Giordana FRC-Dryarn Knee Warmers
The Giordana Body Clone Knee Warmers perform under the radar. They look simple, but a closer inspection reveals how Giordana's tailors worked their magic to make sure that the Body Clone Knee Warmers conform to the body's shape, and that they stay in place -- two features that every warmer should offer. Vertically-stretching fabric over the kneecap accommodates the flex of the knee at the top of the pedal stroke; as such, these knee warmers don't rely on a heavy gripper system to keep them from slipping down.
Dryarn fabric eliminates the chilling effect of sweating in cold weather by moving moisture away from your body. In terms of the amount of fabric used, the construction is denser in some areas and thinner in others. This variance provides compression support to muscles in areas where it's most beneficial, like around the calf, while reducing bulk in areas where freedom of movement might otherwise be restricted.
The Giordana Body Clone Knee Warmers come in Black and in two sizes: Small/Medium and Large/X-Large. They are right- and left-knee specific, so the correct way to wear them is with the Giordana logo on the outside of the knee, reading from bottom to top.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I've been struggling to find a knee warmer I liked--between ones that were too long, too thick, and too tight around the thigh. Finally, I ordered up these Giordana Knee Warmers and found a great fit. They are perfect for those is-it-warm morning departures. They are light in weight and are really comfortable, unlike a lot of others I've tried. I went with the M/L (I usually wear a large in Giordana shorts), which fits great.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This is truely a knee warmer. It really only covers your knee from the top of your knee cap to the top of the shin. They go just to the bottom of the cuff of my shorts, no overlap with the shorts. They also tend to fall and bunch up behind the knee. I'm 5'9" and purchased the L/XL. In otherwords, unless your really desperate for a knee cap cover, you may want to skip these.
