Polished style for outdoor aficionados.
Fuel your outdoor lifestyle in refined style with the Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire Titanium Training Watch. Bucking the industry trend of placing a cheap plastic band on a powerful training watch, the Fenix 3 Sapphire Titanium exudes a well-polished look with its upscale titanium band. And for athletes worried about the titanium band getting in their way during high-octane workouts, this watch comes with a spare silicone band that's much lighter and more flexible.
This sophisticated training watch tracks nearly every aspect of your adventurous lifestyle. Its incredibly versatile and ingenious features include GPS tracking, sport-tuned profiles, exercise physiological metrics (with separate heart rate monitor), and Bluetooth smartphone syncing. The 1.2 inch sunlight-readable Garmin Chroma Display promotes easy reading in bright outdoor conditions, with a high-strength sapphire lens that withstands regular use and abuse. Ultimately, this watch is a great choice for dedicated athletes and outdoor enthusiasts looking to maximize every available opportunity for training and adventure.
Improving its signal reception, the omni-directional EXO antenna tracks both GPS and GLONASS satellites for quickly locking onto your precise location. The altimeter, barometer, and 3-axis electronic compass help you navigate through remote stretches of forest without getting lost. GPS track logging creates a "bread crumb trail" as you move across desolate stretches of wilderness, allowing you to navigate back to your starting point with the TracBack feature.
Although not included, this watch is compatible with ANT+ heart rate monitors, delivering a wealth of training and physiological information. When used with a compatible ANT+ heart rate monitor, the Fenix 3 Sapphire Titanium crunches your running speed, heart bpm, and heart rate variability to estimate your VO2 max during critical training and racing scenarios. Other fitness metrics include a recovery advisor and timer, both of which are useful for avoiding overtraining.
Dedicated sport profiles make this watch a great choice for hitting the slopes on your skis/board, paddling across serene stretches of water, swimming in the training pool, and golfing on courses across the US. Custom apps customize the watch's functionality with the use of Garmin's Connect IQ store. It communicates wirelessly with your smartphone, giving you text messages, emails, and severe weather alerts when your phone is stashed away in your pack. Also, it uploads all of your data to Garmin's Connect online fitness community, as well as syncing with Garmin's Connect Mobile application.

Cheap plastic case
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
For $600 plus watch I expected a solid watch case that would match the band but that is not the case for this watch. Very disappointed in the aesthetic look of this watch. Looks like I'll have to go with a Suunto Terra.
