Primed for the high and dry.

Idea for the cold, dry conditions you can expect to find in Utah's Wasatch backcountry or the towering peaks of Colorado, the G3 Alpinist LT Momix Climbing Skins offers extra glide and durability in a lightweight package. A Removable Rip Strip on each skin reduces adhesion to make it easier to pull your skins apart, and after the glue on each skin gets contaminated by one too many later spring tours, you can remove the strip to reveal fresh glue and help your skins last another season.

  • Lightweight skins for extra glide in cold conditions
  • Momix mohair blend for blend of glide and durability
  • Removable Rip Strip reduces skin-to-skin adhesion
  • Laminated Tip Connector ensures secure, lightweight connection
  • Tail connector is easy to remove with gloves on
  • Non-toxic adhesive and PFOA-free waterproofing treatment

How long are they in cm?

Bonnie, here are the lengths of ski each size skin fits:

Size Ski Length

X-Short 153 - 163cm

Short 153 - 169cm

Medium 168 - 184cm

Long 183 - 189cm

X-Long 189 - 199cm

Great for going fast and light

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These have noticeably more glide on flats and rolling approaches than G3's pure nylon skins. Mohair skins theoretically have a little less grip than nylon, but I haven't noticed much of a difference. And, of course, they have G3's excellent attachment system which I find to be one of the best in the biz. These are an excellent match for lightweight "endurance touring" skis that get used for objectives with long, mellow approaches as this is where you'll really notice the extra glide.

For a daily driver ski that is going to be used and abused in all conditions or a ski that mainly gets used for sidecountry/short steep roadside skin tracks (Teton Pass, Little Cottonwood), I'd go with the full nylon version.

Solid Skin!

These skins are perfect! I just started back-country skiing and was looking for an inexpensive skin. These seemed like a perfect find and they were! I did give them a shot a couple times, even though it's still icy over here, but these things are perfect and exactly what I was looking for! Came with a cutting tool to get them to the right size. Mix of mohair and nylon really packed a punch and got what I was looking for!
