Made with 3D-forged 2014 aluminum alloy, the FSA Energy Stem offers unparalleled levels of lightweight performance, strength, and stiffness for an aluminum stem. Now that we've established the Energy Stem as light, you're probably wondering how it manages to stay exceptionally stiff and strong. In that case, note the 2014 aluminum alloy construction, which is one of the strongest lightweight alloys available, as backed by extensive use in the aerospace industry.
Rounding things out, the Energy Stem is finished with high-gloss black, with the faceplate secured by four titanium screws. The clamp diameter is 31.8-millimeters for use with standard drop bars. Rise is +/- 6-degrees and stack height is 40-millimeters.

Got this stem to dial in the fit on my CX bike. Its plenty light and the large faceplate and 4 bolts look like it will do a great job or keeping the bars from slipping over rough terrain. Looks great when paired with other FSA cockpit items. I only wish that the bolts on steerer tube clamp side were a little more recessed. They stick out a bit and look like they could do some knee damage in a crash.

Is 31.9 the correct diameter? It seems all of FSA stuff is normally 31.8.
