Though we'd like to link the Fox Racing Women's Ripley Short-Sleeve Jersey to our appreciation for the themes of gender equality in a certain revolutionary 1979 sci-fi monster flick, copyright considerations stay our hand. So instead we'll write about a slant-rhyme to that film's title: going (ahem) all-in. As in, the Ripley is built for the lady who often outrides the gentlemen, going all-in on all the ups and downs of off-road cycling.
Compared to more expensive jerseys (Flexair, we're looking at you), the Ripley sheds a few finishing details like a Giger-inspired xenomorph sloughs off its skin before eating the ship's captain. In the jersey's case, these details include ditching the lie-flat cuffs, mesh underarms, and laser perforated vents. Instead of these luxe details, the Ripley sticks to the basics by using the Flexair's TruDri fabric throughout.
- A jersey for ladies with plenty of class
- TruDri material manages moisture and ventilates
- Trail fit is athletic but not road-race tight
- Reflective details help keep you visible while commuting to the trail
- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This shirt is so comfortable I try to find excuses to wear it even when not biking! The coolest part is that the fabric is solid at the top of the shirt and gradually changes to a mesh pattern at the bottom, so wind flows through freely and keeps you cool. I normally wear a XS in shirts and the S still fits me great because it has room for movement and isn't too tight anywhere. I already have two colors and plan on getting more!
I usually wear a size small or medium. I prefer this jersey in a large for the fit. Other than that I'm in love. The material is great for long summer rides with a great relaxed fit. Great colors and designs!
