Forsake Loop Hiking Boot - Women's

Outsmart the elements.

The Forsake Women's Loop Hiking Boot is smartly designed for conquering snowy sidewalks and rugged trails. The boot's streamlined, street-savvy silhouette means you won't be stomping around in clunky boots on your daily commute. Ideal for wintertime, the directional lugged sole keeps you glued to the asphalt when Old Man Winter spits snow, freezing rain, and sleet for days on end.

Runs large, perfect day hikers/town shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 8.5

First off, these definitely run large. I always wear a size 9/9.5 but after reading reviews I went with an 8.5 and they fit perfectly.

I mainly got these as an around town, walking to/on campus boot that I could then spontaneously decide to go for a hike after. Great for these rainy days. So refreshing to have a nice casual boot that actually looks good -and- is practical.

Rugged DAY hiking boot? yes, so awesome. feet stay dry, mud stays out, traction is excellent. I've only gone on one hike thus far, but all our trails are pretty steep and extra muddy right now and these boots rose to the challenge right off the bat.

Worst Hiking Boot EVER.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 7.5

I was really excited about these when I purchased them... They arrived quickly, fit perfectly, and seemed very well made. I hike/trail run quite a bit but I typically wear trail shoes. I had several long hikes planned for the summer where I wanted a really nice, reliable pair of boots. I have maybe worn these 5 times and they have already stretched out over a full size larger than they started and today (luckily at the beginning of a very long hike) the laces ripped out right over the arch of my foot where support is the most necessary. This was my first pair of Forsake Hiking Boots and will definitely be the last.

Hey there! I think these are a fairly rugged shoes but more on the fancy side. If you're looking for a rugged boot for long distances check out the Scarpa Wrangells or something like that.

Runs a half size big, otherwise awesome!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 9.0

Foresake is making the best mountain boots and shoes right now. Comfy, waterproof, and rad designs!

I tried on these, the Patch, and the Duck boot, and all of them were a half size large. So I went down to a 9.0 (usually wear a 9.5).

Ultimately I decided to keep the Duck Boot, and the Patch, but if there was another color options I might have kept these as well. They are really comfortable! I like that the ankle is slightly lower on the Loop vs the Patch, and is cut a little lower on the sides of the ankle. Makes them a little more comfortable overall.

They are all weatherproof, no complaints there, and do well on wet surfaces. My one suggestion to Forsake is to work on their ice/snow traction and come up with a grippier winter rubber.

Looking forward to more products from this company!

Cute, but feels big

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 6

I bought these because I was looking for something that I could hike in, but that I could also wear for off-trail adventures without looking like I had just, well, just stepped off the trail.

For hiking boots, these are cute! I bought the Loop in the tan/ocean color combo and appreciate that Forsake offers women attractive color combinations that aren'™t garish or nauseatingly girly. The Loop has more of a loafer look, while Forsake'™s Patch looks more like a hiking/athletic shoe.

I originally ordered these in a 6.5 thinking they'd be more comfortable with thicker socks. Well, the 6.5 was huge so I re-ordered in my usual size 6. Unfortunately, my normal size, which is the smallest that Forsake offers, feels too long and too wide. The shoe also feels like it's got too much "œhead room". As in, there seems to be a lot of space in the area above my feet. The laces don't really cinch the boot tighter around my foot so the shoe ends up feeling a bit sloppy to me. Yes, there's plenty of room, but my feet -“ which are not exactly narrow - feel like they slide around inside the shoe (and that'™s just walking around the house). The area around the ankle also feels too big. I can only imagine the assortment of rocks I'd get in these boots.

The Loop feels like I'™m driving a big SUV. They might be rugged enough to go off road, but they also feel a bit clunky. It's hard to tell how they'™d feel while hiking. For the price, I don't want to take them out only to find that my test drive around the house was accurate.
