The FlyLow Gear Chemical Pant keeps all the pow out during big lines but lets in a cool breeze during the skin back up the ridge. Since you slay big lines and deep snow on the daily, you'll be stoked on the three-layer Intuitive Fabric in this shell pant. And since you work for your turns, this pant's inner and outer thigh vents get you all the ventilation you need to keep skinning and lapping your favorite zone. But the goodness doesn't stop there—FlyLow added super burly Cordura reinforcements along the knees and cuffs to keep this pant in tip-top shape whether you're dropping knees on a deep powder day or boot packing up rocky ridge lines en route to a big descent.

Still the most durable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These pants have been the most durable pants for years, and nothing's changed. They fit, and they last!

Bomber and comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

The Chemical Pants are super durable and are built to keep you warm while not weighing you down. Combined with the color combos and these are a must have.

Looking Forward To Trying These Out

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I picked these up a week ago and am planning on using them for opening day at Solitude tomorrow. I'm 6'1'' 201 and the XL fit me perfectly. Planning on skiing 50/50 resort/backcountry, so will report back on the breathability/waterproof quality.

    Awesome Pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I normally wear 32x32 jeans for reference. These pants fit perfect. Loose without being baggy, length just right, good fit over the boot. Super tough material. They don't bead water as well as higher end stuff, but I have yet to get wet even in some pretty wet PNW days. I got the medium, but a large would be better if I wanted a baggier look. Would buy again.

Hey Matt, Thanks for adding to our online community! We appreciate you sharing your review. Cheers!

    Great pants, but lose waterproofing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Pants fit well and are not insulated. They have great pockets and extra durable fabric in key regions (knees, inside ankles). The pants lost their waterproofing in the first ski season of wearing them (80+ ski days) but held up great for 3 years of 80+ day seasons.

    close, no cigar

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large

Everything was high-quality and seemingly of fine construction, like I have experienced from Flylow. Only problem for me was the inside lining, which hindered my freedom-of-movement/range-of-motion. My previous Flylow experience is with the Snowman insulated pants, which allow me to move unhindered. I do a lot of hiking and such. Oh well.

    Great Pants So Far

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

These are definitely some of the best pants I've owned. The fabric is fully waterproof so far, the zips offer great ventilation and the cordura reinforcements are great. The cut is a little wonky, they're tight around the waist and pretty loose through the legs. I have the maize ones and they get dirty super fast, which is a kind of a bummer.

    Great Baggies

I bought these for my boyfriend for Christmas, here's what he had to say: "These are probably one of the better pants for skiing I've ever owned. I would say they fit true to size in terms of the waist, but note that these are a bit on the baggy side but still perfectly functional. For fitting reference, I typically wear a 33 in Prana's and the Large fit me well. I am about 6'1-6'2 maybe 180lbs if that helps. They are anything but short in the inseam so length is not going to be an issue if your inseam is longer. I got the Black color, the black is a super dark charcoal/grey color.. while being black. If that makes any sense. I also have had a couple chances to wear these in all snow conditions and they are nice and warm if paired well with a good base layer. I wore these up on the slopes at Snow Basin and it was 20 degrees and snowing. I was warm and dry after being out there for 3-5 hours of skiing fresh powder. "

      Runs large

      • Fit: Runs large

product runs slightly large in terms of bagginess/length, so would recommend a medium to anyone between medium/large, though would note the waist will be a bit snug. A good-looking piece of equipment, sturdy but flexible enough to be athletic. The color and style are as expected and am very satisfied with the product.

      Decent pants

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

I bought these pants at the beginning of last season and have put over 50 days on them. I have done everything from lapping the resort to hiking couloirs in the backcountry. I have gotten 3 holes in these pants which I have patched using a combination of tenacious and gorilla tape. So far I have experienced no leakage. I like that they breathe well and have full venting however I do have some issues with these pants. I find the waist tight and restrictive where the rest of the pant fits great. To solve this I keep them as loose as possible and use suspenders. I have also been disappointed in the durability. In addition to the holes the fabric on the the front thighs has pilled from falls. I would give these pants a 3.5 if possible.

      Decent pants

Great ski pant, especially for the money

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL

I originally ordered this pant in a large based on the comments others have made about sizing. I am 6'2" 195 with a 35" waist and immediately found the pants too small. My Gearhead was great in helping me return them, create a credit and order the XL. I got the XL size quickly and when I tried them on they were perfect. I cinched the waist straps and wont need a belt. The length is also great, I am more leg than torso and I was worried the pant would be too short but when I put them on with my ski boots they were just right. I ski about 20 days a year and am not interested in paying high prices for something simple like a ski pant. I have 2 other Flylow products (Down coat and vest) and wear them all the time. When I started shopping for ski pants I went straight for Flylow as I know I wont be disappointed or pay more than I should have to.

      Great fitting

These pants seem to fit true to size! Got them a little early for ski season! But excited to try them out this year.

        Love em!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The chemical plant is kind of like a futuristic version of your favorite pair of Carhartt pants. These pants are DURABLE and really waterproof. They have huge vents for when things get hot on the skin track, or when the dancing gets heated during Apres. The best pants I have owned hands down.

        Favorite Ski Pants

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: med

These pants are super burly, but aren't heavy and clunky. Mine have held up through multiple seasons of skiing, and are still super waterproof. The huge zippers also make hiking/touring a breeze. Love these pants.

Eric, how did you find the medium fit? I'm about your size if not a touch bigger, and am torn between the medium and small. What's your waist size? Are these super baggy?

          Waterproof and well-vented

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: xl

I am 6'3 and about 195lbs, and I find that the xl fits me about as well as any ski pant I have even owned. I have skied approximately 25 days in these pants, mostly in deep snow in the Wasatch range, and I have the following observations:
-thoroughly vented, and probably the best pants for hiking for turns I have ever owned
-dwr is spot on, and I have yet to have these pants soak through
-flattering fit, and don't look super obvious as ski pants if you stop for a beer after the mountain
-not the warmest pants I own. When the wind is howling, you'll notice. This might be a result of the pant being super thin
-they definitely require a belt, as the velcro tightening system is basically useless

          Amazing Ski Pants

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: Medium

I put over 100 days on a pair last season and they barely look used. Burly fabric and construction but super comfortable with a perfectly baggy fit on me. My other ski pants were severely neglected this season with these proving flawless in all conditions.

          Appear to be very good

          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: Large

I'm 6'2 and weight about 207, which is a little heavier than I like to be. I got the Large. While they fit around the waist, they will be much better when I'm back down to 195-200. I'm a 35/36 waist at the moment; normally a 34/35. There is no room for expansion, whereas the larger size would enable me to close the velcro adjustable straps on the sides. I think the XL would be too big & baggy. I've got athletic thighs and they fit perfectly in the legs. Others complain about the bagginess, but I think they're great for ski pants. The length is perfect. They appear to be well-designed. The buttons on the front do not poke me as mentioned in another post, but I haven't put on a backpack with waist strap to test it. I bent over and tried to pinch myself, and couldn't feel them. I like the leg zippers on both sides. Very good design. I've historically worn North Face pants, and I can tell that these are going to be as good or better, depending on actual wear and tear. I got the ocean color, and it's true to the picture displayed (or as close as you can get with a computer picture). I like them alot...won't know for sure until ski season gets here in another 4-5 months.

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: Medium

I bought these to be a waterproof black uniform pant for patrolling but ended up just wearing them every day. Waterproofing is flawless and the leg zippers keep me from overheating when I have to dig out tower pads.

How do you find the medium fit? Are they super baggy? I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs and right between S and M on Flylow's size chart.

          How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around the smallest part of your waist.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
