I have used and abused these pants over the last 4-5 years. Snow, rain, sand, rocks, brush, you name it and they've scraped against it. They've seen everything and they're still in good condition. A few ripped seams (after... 4 years?) but, no major holes, no major failures barring a couple of pinholes here and there. That might sound bad but, considering the consistency and absolute abuse they have seen, it is remarkable how well they have held up. I've never had a better pair of pants. I'd absolutely recommend these.

Chestnut color is not as shown
These are great pants, they fit small so order one size up. I ordered the Chestnut/Timber color b/c on the BC website they appear tan or light brown. In reality the color is a reddish brown, very similar to brick and not at all appealing IMO. I had to return for a different color.

Well made, functional pants for outdoor pursuits. They do run a bit small, but otherwise fit well and are comfortable.

Great Pants, not for everyone
awesome pants. feel tough and durable but if you got some junk in the trunk these pants will not fit you. made for slender men. when i put these on they barely fit around my booty and make it so tight the pockets are inaccessible

Best all around pants you could ask for

I use these primarily for field work in Colorado Forests. I have used them and beat them up with activities ranging from chainsaw work to long hikes to chilling at a coffee shop and they are perfect in each setting. They are super durable and along with doing a good job keeping you shielded from the weather at 10,000 ft, they are also super breathable. Maybe my favorite feature of this pant too is that you can adjust the lower leg endings to conform to whatever piece of footwear you have on. I really do not have much to complain about these pants, maybe the pockets could be a little more normal, but honestly I think the Swedish people have their hiking pants down.

Pants just came today. Immediately went for a 6 mile hike, in snow & mud, next to Cheyenne mtn in CO. 1) the sizing is good, a 36 is a 36. Length is perfect for me too, usually a 31, these are a little longer = perfect. I can bend my knee, point my toe, & the lace clete is not a hinderance. 2) they feel great, not too thick, not too thin, not scratchy, good cut = can squat np. 3) pockets are good, just enough without going overboard. I saw these on a YouTube vid (around 15 mins of dude gushing over how great they were) and was intrigued enough to purch. Zero regrets! I have a feeling folks will only think I have one pair of pants going forward. Thanks Backcountry!

I tend to be conservative with weight and backpack ultralight-light depending on the season. So these pants aren?t normal for what I tend to wear. These pants are great and I wanted something a little bit more durable. I should of bought these a long time ago. I can say one thing, I?m glad I went up a size. According to Fjallravens site I should get a 50 and I did even though I would normally wear a 48. I?m 6ft, 185lb muscular build and wear a 32-33, but the 33-34 fits great. I can see how some people with thicker thighs might have some problems with these pants.

First purchased size 52 for my 34? waist and 32? inseam. Way to big. They work with a few thick layers on underneath for winter...Ordered size 50 reg. and they fit well. Still a bit looser than my usual 34? pants. Length if perfect. I still need a to wear a belt with both pairs. There lighter than expected but seam durable. They seam to hold there size and shape with use, they don?t stretch out like most pants after a good days use. The size 52?s I wear either 2 pairs of sweat pants under them or a thick pair of wool pants. Make sure you wax them good before going around any fire...

Robust pants extend hiking season

These pants are pretty good for hiking in. They have reinforced knees, lots of pockets, and are quite light. They have quite a few poppers for the pockets, and round the ankle to tighten that area in perhaps wet or snowy conditions. These are not the pants for you if you do not like poppers. They are not lined, so are warm enough when hiking, even in cold fall conditions, but don't provide a lot of insulation when not moving. They are decent wind, water and scratch protection. In summer I would prefer to hike in shorts, these pants extend the hiking season into late fall, or early spring. They look OK too.

I bought these for fall hiking and they are excellent! They are windproof and have tons of handy pockets. I would caution though in getting the "Long" version of these versus the regular ones as I made that mistake and had to return the Long for the Reg. Highly recommend
