Keb Jacket

Sweden-based Fjallraven has been producing durable outdoor goods since the early '60s. Through a passion for innovation and a healthy respect for the past, It has been able to produce some truly unique outdoor goods that are tough, high-performing, and stylish, and the Keb Men's Jacket is no exception. Made with Fjallraven's G-1000 fabric, this jacket is treated with a water-resistant Greenland wax, which can either be removed or reapplied as desired throughout the life of the jacket. The wax (sold separately) is applied by rubbing it into the fabric then heating the garment to allow the wax to absorb into the face of the fabric. To remove the wax, simply wash the jacket.

The jacket has two large chest pockets that are positioned to be easily accessed when wearing a backpack or climbing harness. The three-way adjustable storm hood is fitted with a wire brim for additional protection from rain. Two underarm ventilation zips let you lose heat quick when you're on the move through stormy conditions, while an internal chest pocket keeps your map, compass, or GPS out of the elements during your hiking or backpacking trips. The Keb jacket is designed to integrate with Fjallraven's Keb pants for a single rain-stopping suit that will fit comfortably with a heavy backpack or climbing harness.

  • G-1000 Eco fabric (65% polyester, 35% cotton)
  • Regular fit
  • Underarm ventilation zips
  • Three-way adjustable hood
  • Hook and loop adjustable cuffs
  • Drawstring at hem
  • Vertical chest pockets

  • Internal mesh internal pocket

Versatile and tough

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

Love these jackets I own 2. They are some of the most versatile and durable pieces you can find, rugged enough to hike through forest and rock, water repellent enough for even medium rain, really well vented for a great range of temps and climates and wind resistant enough for almost any climate, paired with its own keb hoody or just a thick wool sweater or fleece it’s basically a rugged low tech winter shell for skiing too. I grab these almost every time I go out and especially if I’m worried about damaging a fragile gore Tex type shell or if it’s gonna be jammed down in a pack, I dot have to worry about this one getting damaged. And if it ever does it’s super field repairable . The wax system is not fully waterproof it will soak over time and needs redoing every so often depending on the level of water and wind repellence you desire (vs breath ability) but not more than once a year and it’s fun. Just use a blow dryer basically to melt it in evenly wherever you want extra repellence.

Great tall collar also, that’s the original reason I bough it, great for windy days and cold nights.

Has chest pockets and side zips for venting heat and reaching inside to pants pockets, vest pocket, insulation layer pocket etc.

I’m 6’1, 33 waist have a size M though L would work as well.

Nice jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: M

This jacket has a nice trim fit, oversize hood and easily pack able. I like to wear it out around town as well as a nice fall hiking jacket.

Quality jacket. Made in China though

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Size Bought: M

Good looking jacket. Very nice and fine details. Massive hood is a bit annoying when it kept scratching my ears while I was hiking. And this jacket not very good at blocking wind. But overall I like it.

Quality jacket. Made in China though

Fashion Forward, but still performance

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Small

I really like the fit of this jacket, and the stretch of the material. The only thing I don't really understand about this jacket is the collar/hood. It rides up really high, and adds unnecessary bulk to the neck. I do love that this jacket truely is street to trail wear. I can throw this on for a date or work, with enough technical features to hit the trail afterwards. Pit zips are a plus!

Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist:
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
