I've owned the Abisko Trekking Trousers for about a week now and they're quickly becoming my favorite pair of pants. It took me a minute to figure out the European sizing conversion but my 32" waist translates perfectly to the Fjallraven size 48. I am 5'11" and 165 with a 32" inseam and these are perfect. The combination of the heavy duty G1000 face fabric used in high wear areas and the lightweight stretch material used in areas where comfort and breathability provides a durable yet lightweight pair of pants that are ideal in the warmer months or warmer locations. I dig the two tone colorway found on many of the Fjallraven trousers but the colors don't contrast too much on the Dark Grey pair I picked up. The ventilation pockets, the ankle cuffs and the thigh pockets are really nice, functional features. These will give my Patagonia Field pants a run for their money. Looking forward to buying another pair soon!
Do you know if the black Abisko trousers are two-tone in color?

Well, I am not built like a Scandinavian. These trousers further proved that, offering me nothing but a mile long inseam and articulated knees on my shins. I am 5'10-11" and 200 lbs, with broad shoulders, a larger upper torso/waist (44" chest and 35" waist) yet smaller hips/legs. This often means buying a large-xl top yet needing a medium on bottom. You see where this is heading. The Abisko, while an awesome material, especially with the wax to customize to the environment, is not built to fit the average person. What would you guess the population percentage to have a 36" waist and a 35" inseam? 1%? That is the fit of the EU 50. I could hem them but my thighs would need to grow another 2" to get my knees into their spot. So without more than a try on, they have been returned. Oh, and the color difference between the two materials is much more pronounced than the image offered. I ordered the pine green.
Outdoor clothing is a trick to get to fit, but when it does it's magical! Unfortunately no magic here -just pants made for really tall, skinny people.

I knew Fjallraven made badass heavy duty trekking pants, but this was the first pair I tried on that felt appropriate for super hot summer hiking. They are nice and light, durable where they need to be, but SUPER stretchy everywhere else. They used two materials strategically to accomplish this, but since the colors of the two materials match very closely they are also not as bold looking as some of the other Fjallraven pants.
Overall I'm always impressed with the quality of their pants, I'd say the challenge is picking the right pair for what you want to do. I just picked these out recently, but I am excited to use them for warm weather hiking/backpacking and kicking around town in mild weather. I also have a pair of their Vidda Pro pants which I will switch to when the temps drop and/or I need more durability.
Fit is great, slim enough to look good but the fit is loose and comfortable overall. I'm a size 34 waist and the European 48 is perfect.
