All round trekking tight
I love these trekking tights ! Such a good investment. I have used them on many hiking / camping adventures. Comfortable , warm with just enough stretch when needed . And really flattering !

Awesome tights!
I was skeptical about the cost, but these tights are worth every penny. I wear them every day except for the summer, and am glad the weather has finally turned cooler so I can wear them again. I hope to never have to wear (American) pants again. The reinforcements somehow make it feel like I'm wearing clothes and not underwear, so I'm not self-conscious like I would be in other leggings. They're super comfortable and I'm 5'6", 200 lbs (XL). Last winter when it was 20º I could go out to walk the dog without changing or adding bottom layers. We cold roll around in the snow and stay warm and dry, and I could right back to my desk to get back to work. They don't seem to show any wear or pilling at all, even between the thighs which is always the first to go with my build. I know it's not trekking, but they're perfect for my needs too.

Not for me
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
My friend SWORE by these trekking tights for all activities-hiking, biking, backpacking, travel, life etc. I loved the idea of the reinforced butt and knees but the fabric they use for the reinforcement was horrible. the inside stitching poked and itched. It obviously didnt bother my friend or maybe i have a badly stitched pair, but they were horrendous. I took them backpacking and regretting every step in these pants. And sleeping in them, was a heck no. i would rather be cold them wear these at night. If the stitching doesnt bother you then they look goooood! i loved the look and idea behind these pants. they felt durable and yet flattering. the length was perfect and the slight rise in the back was nice for a hint of extra butt crack coverage. because i was sensitive, my backpack rubbed my skin raw with the rough fabric and caused a rash on my upper butt/lower back area. again, that would be if you have issues with the stitching. i wish these worked for me.

Outdoor gear for athletes with thighs
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Fjallraven consistently remains the only brand I have found that caters to athletes with larger bums, thighs, and a smaller waist. They are great if your are tall, but the bottoms are easy to deal with if a bit too long. They are resilient enough to sit down in. Their pockets are large and useful. They don’t fall down your stomach while being too tight on your thighs, but do have a drawstring if this is a common problem in other brands: I felt it ran large, but I have a 14” difference between my waist and hips, so YMMV. But! They do have straight and curved (by which they mean small waist, larger thighs and hips) fits in all their more sturdy pants, so do try their other gear! If you are very slim or have a more rectangular frame, they may not be for you, but you can probably fit into almost every other outdoor brand, so, you know, let us have this one. I hope they never remake this fit.

Brilliant and worth the money
I have had a pair of these for over 5 years and done hundreds of km of walking in them. No pilling, no thinning of the material, still look as good as new. Super comfy and good for the transition seasons. I am only buying a new pair because I lost weight and they are getting a 'bit' loose.

Good but not perfect
What’s great: Abrasion resistant seat and knees are fab. The leg material is very stretchy and comfortable doesn’t bunch behind the knees. Big phone pocket is large and well-positioned. What could be better: the ankle cuff is super tight so they are hard to pull over your heels. Also, the leg length is a little too short, so coupled with the tight ankles, this prevents me pulling them up all the way so as I’m walking they ride down and end up with the gusset hanging down. Also the other two pockets are too small.

Ah these are so cute!
I’m a size xxs per the size chart for Fjallraven. Just for a legging comparison in Lululemon I’m a 2, but can also fit in their 0. In jeans I’m a 23 or 24 depending on the brand. These trekking tights fit me so well once on!!! But getting them over my thighs is a struggle, not sure why since once on they are not tight at all, they fit comfortably and look so cute! If I go up a size they most likely will be too loose around the butt and knees (I ride horses and full seat breeches that are loose in the butt area are the worst!) so I will stick with the xxs. I just wish there was a zipper on the side (kind of like a skirt) for getting them on, or a wee more stretch in the waist band (could possibly also just be that the drawstring is too small when coming over my thighs.) Either way I can tell these are made of high quality materials, I’m excited to wear these on future hikes and cross-country skiing adventures in Alaska!

Best Sailing pants
These pants/tights are the best ones I've ever used for racing/sailing (30 years!). The abrasion resistant reinforcement on the rear is ideal for sitting on non-skid coated boat decking. The abrasion resistant knees are durable for all positions on any size racing boat. The fabric helps to keep external knee pads from sliding down. All my sailing buddies want them now.

Comfortable, strong materials, but stretched out too quickly
Purchased these to hike the West Coast Trail and wore them for 6 consecutive days of hiking. Overall, they held up well with only 3 snags to the left quad but I was disappointed with how much they stretched out. I'm hoping they'll re-shape with a wash but my hopes aren't high *sad face*. I also came across another hiker on the trail who had the same experience with these. My recommendation would be to buy them VERY tight to account for the stretching. I'm 5'9", 150lbs, and I have size M.

Good leggings, great concept, just not perfect for price
I bought these for long distance trekking as I love walking in leggings, but wanted something more specific for long distance walking. They do protect my legs a bit more from regular leggings when it comes to nettles, overgrown bushes etc, but not as well as trekking trousers would. I completed an 80km walk in them for their first journey and the material is already showing baubles between the thighs and where my backpack rests on my hips. Not as durable against thorns as I would have thought. Also, I have a larger lower stomach and the waistband is very restrictive on the seams both across the stomach and the centre seam to meet the crotch, which isn't very flattering. I have longer tops so this is ok. Love the pockets though, lots of pockets! I have shorter legs so they are a bit long on me, I fold them up at the bottom. Knees and back material a bit rough and weird, but you get used to it and it is useful when you have to crawl under things or for sitting in the wilderness :)
