Fi'zi:k M1 Uomo Shoe - Men's

Get muddy with style.

Just because you're going to get muddy doesn't mean your shoes shouldn't have class. The Fizik M1 Uomo Shoes bring sleek design with a flash of shiny style to wow your friends and all the woodland creatures on any trail adventure.

Fizik didn't just design these shoes to be pretty though—they're also packed with technology to improve your ride. A micrometric buckle with two hook-and-loop straps let you adjust the fit while a Tepex heel cup keeps the back of your foot solidly in place. To cap it off, the M1 Uomos come with a heat moldable 3D Flex Insole that customizes to your foot for the perfect fit. Once you have the fit dialed, a carbon sole makes sure all that power you're putting down goes straight to forward motion, with just enough flex to absorb trail vibrations and keep your feet happy.

heavy and big

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

stiff as can be and great shoes. but, as others have said they are heavy. (But, for a cyclist, so am I, so...) And, I think theyre a bit big. Not in length, but around. I have to cinch them all the way down til the ratchet strap has no more clicks to go, or I have to wear two pair of socks.

Heavy

  • Fit: True to size

I love the way these fit. They are really comfortable and great for wide toeboxes. But the weight was 450g per shoe. That's WAY more than advertised and only slightly lighter than my trail bike shoes.

Purchased these shoes with the belief they were would hold up and were quality shoes. I had to replace the top strap within 16 months given the replacement part was reasonably priced. Shoes are very stiff and soles held up very well compared to my than my previous Sidi's. The bottom strap on my right foot is pulling apart and is NOT replaceable. The same thing is starting to happen on the left foot as well. I submitted 4 quality/warranty claims via the web site and had the Fizik website crashed on me each time, finally used the contact me via their website 3 times before being contacted . My shoes just did not hold up more than 2 years without parts having to be replaced and now a none replaceable part renders the shoes useless. If you purchase these shoes my suggestion would be to keep a very close eye on the quality a anything that could be an issue report it. Customer service from Fizik for me was sub par..... Hopefully the luggage/shoe shop can repair the strap..

Update: 08-26-16 took these shoes to my local luggage/shoe cobbler. They were able to sew on a Velcro patch and repair the pulling apart section of the strap. Cost was $25 per strap..

Quality!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Excellent quality, extremely comfortable, very adjustable, fit perfect! Every bit as good as the top of the line Sidi's that I have. They do run a touch small, but factor that in and you will be happy you bought them. Only con, they are a little heavier than other high end shoes.

disappointing

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

heavier than should be for a high-end performance shoe and sizing runs small. returned without using.

Beware of Sizing

I own the road version of this shoe in a size 48. I normally wear a 13.5 to 14 U.S. The road shoe fits like a glove and I've had them for about two years with very little wear. I ride about 6,000 miles a year in all kinds of weather so I am impressed with how they are holding up. The kangaroo leather is really amazing. So when I saw the mountain version of the same shoe, I assumed it would fit similarly and wear well over time. I was wrong. In a size 48, the M1 Uomo fits more like a 12 or 12.5 and is even more narrow than my road shoe. The quality of the M1 looks to be amazing but I never got to ride them. Holding it in my hand, it seems very well made, just like the road shoe. It's too bad the sizing is so off. There aren't many kangaroo options around for those who want their shoes to fit better and last longer. I'm going to give Lake's larger sizes a try.

Very thought out and well made!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I won't address how well crafted these shoes are, as others have already commented. They are very well thought out. I especially like that the M1 allows the cleat to be placed further aft than most XC/Trail shoes. For dedicated XC riders it may not matter, but I like the cleat behind the balls of my feet, which allows for better control on technical descents. Only time will tell for durability, but based on my initial impression this shoe should last a while. Steep price to pay, but if you can get them on sale, they are worth every penny.

Very confortable

The Fizik show is very well made and looks great. I will compare it with the SIDI Drago because I have the boths and they have similar price! The Fizik is more roomy and confortable, but is a litle bit heavier. They have good rigidity and good Power transfer. The fabric of the SIDI is better to be used in a very hot days and when you are sure that your shoe will be wet , because the SIDIs fabric doesnt retain much humidity as the Fizik. I think that the SIDI is more race oriented, and the Fizik is more confortable.

Very confortable

Races, hike-a-bike, downhill

I ride everyday and wanted a shoe that was comfortable, stiff and most of all light. This has fit all the criteria. Has been the best fitting shoe that I've owned. I've ridden it high in the mountains on downhill my bike shouldn't be ridden on (Anthem) without missing a beat. The stiff bottom shoe was noticeable the day I put them on. They also don't look too bad either and if you road bike like me, you can get the matching road version and be the coolest kid on the block!

Fizik M1 MTB Shoes

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased these shoes February 2014. I have worn Sidi for motorcycle racing and all my bike racing and have ALWAYS been happy with the shoes and could justify the price paid vs the quality I was getting. The construction of these Fizik M1 shoes seem to be on par with my top notch Sidi. I really like the kangaroo leather inners, & moldable 3D Flex Insoles. As with the Sidi the M1 treads are replaceable & all the straps & buckles. The M1 seem extremely stiff and the tongue of the shoes is removable and can be placed where you find it most comfortable... I would recommend if you are running CrankBros cleats to make sure and get the Crankbrothers Shoe Shields as the plastic plates that come with the cleats are not large enough to cover the mounting bolts. The M1 are very well made and I believe I will be extremely happy with them and look forward to putting big miles under them.
