Freerider EPS Shoe

When everyone else packs up for the season with the approach of cold and wet weather, you grab your Five Ten Freerider EPS Shoes and head out to enjoy crowd-free trails. With water-resistant uppers and an insulated lining, these shoes help your feet stay warm and dry when you're riding in less-than-ideal conditions.

  • Cold and wet weather won't keep this shoe off the trails
  • Lightweight PrimaLoft adds breathable insulation
  • DWR-treated uppers with reduced seams for water-resistance
  • Fully gusseted tongue prevents water and mud intake
  • Insulated, heat-reflective footboard keeps your feet warm
  • Stealth rubber outsole stays glued to your pedals

Great Shoe for Winter Flats!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 10

I ride with these in northern MN. Not really good for the super cold temps in the single digits or lower but work great otherwise. I add chemical toe warmers when it does get down that cold or wear my hikers. They stick really well to flat pedals!! Only hassle is you really have zero traction off the bike. Trying to hike a bike up a snowy or icy trail? Good luck or just don't stop!! I have the high top ones and would buy them again in a minute and have also been thinking about adding some grip studs to them just for a little more off the bike traction. I normally wear a wide size ten and they fit me perfect with just enough room for thick socks.

Not as wide and not very warm

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 10

I bought these to ride in the winters in North Idaho but they're just not as warm as I was expecting. IMO you'd be better off just using foot warmers in your current shoes. They're a tiny bit warmer than my regular Five Tens but not significantly so. Also, they run a bit smaller due to the insulation.

Decent Winter Shoe

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 13

I love 510 shoes for my flats and wanted a winter version. Wish I could have found a mid top in my size. Had to settle for the low top. They keep my feet warmish down to about 35 degrees or so. Below that I have to run heat packs in them and I'm good for about 2 hours. Seems to be a durable shoe!
