Any old schmoe can cruise down some groomers and point at a bird, but for those who want to do a little of their own exploring, there's the Fischer Offtrack 5 BC My Style Women's Touring Boot. Designed specifically to fit ladies' feet, the Offtrack is perfect for driving metal-edged nordic touring skis, with a stiff non-slip BC sole, injected heel cap, and an ASCS ankle-support cuff to provide plenty of support for your backcountry adventures. Fischer hooked up an integrated gaiter, sealed zipper, and hook-and-loop cuff closure to keep snow and water from cramping your style and lined the whole package with a combination of heat-trapping Thinsulate, soft synthetic, and antimicrobial Cleansport NXT. to keep your feet warm and minimally smelly.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This boot is good for people with chronically cold feet, who ski straight ahead, on flat terrain. I wanted a boot for breaking trail - anywhere - and taking some turns along the way. Not this boot. I wear a 9.5-10 women's shoe - the 42 fit fine. Extremely cushy and warm, perhaps too much- that is why I wear socks, after all - but not a lot of lateral stability regardless of how much I tighten up laces. It just felt 'mushy', even in a snowplow. Plastic structure coming up from the back doesn't seem to have a purpose - I certainly didn't feel it enhanced the stability of the boot or my ankle. Gearhead was helpful, but really missed the mark with understanding what I wanted a boot for. Finally have snow; wore them twice; past the 30 days; company won't take them back for credit.

How do these fit- true to size or small/large? Thanks
