FischerOfftrack 5 BC Boot - Men's

Where we're going, we don't need trails.

Slip on the Fischer Offtrack 5 BC Boot when you've had enough of the groomers and are ready to follow the deer trails or make some tracks of your own. The Offtrack 5's relatively soft flex, comfortable Sport Fit, and warm wool-like lining keep your feet comfortable, even when your boogers are freezing and the animals are hiding from the cold, and the integrated gaiter and sealed zipper prevent snow and moisture from creeping into your socks. To keep you stable in uneven terrain, Fischer built in an injected heel cap and a T3 sole and decked out the cuff with a solid hook-and-loop strap and easy-entry loops for simple ons and offs. Maybe best of all, the Offtrack's lining features a Cleansport NXT antimicrobial membrane, which moves moisture away from your feet, keeping your boots fresher and long car rides back from the mountains a little bit easier.

Great boot

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Sizing: on average i wear a size 10 shoe and the 43 fit perfect with the ability to wear two socks comfortably. These have above average underfoot support and a decent insole, and a roomy toebox. So far they have exceeded my expectations and have been wonderfully comfortable. Three things: i wish the outter was treated with a DWR because wet snow absorbs right into the silver fabric area on my first use. i also wish it had a gaiter loop, and lastly i would have liked two upper lace loops rather than one for better ankle support. Note: I use these on fischer outback 68's in mostly off track terrain and some on track.

Too loose

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Although sized correctly, these boots felt loose and sloppy during full days of cross-country skiing. The drawcord inner tightening system also slipped. It drove me crazy and I had to return them.

Great BC Lite boot

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great BC-Lite boot for the off-track enthusiast. I ski on 68 mm Sporten BC skis almost exclusively off-track and in all weather conditions. I have Green Superfeet in these, and am blister-free! Did a lot of classic skiing including many CSMs over my life.

Size 46.

Pros: Light, Supportive, Comfortable and Durable (so far)
Cons: No loop for full-length gaiter.

Unanswered Question

Is this boot waterproof? I have Rossignol BCX7 and my feet are always soaked the second it starts to precipitate or on a warm day if the snow that gets knocked onto the boot starts melting. A waterproof boot would at least leave my feet dry on days when it's cold enough that my feet aren't sweating a lot.

Are these a unisex boot? I am looking

No, but we do have the women's version on our site, they are called the Fischer Offtrack 5 BC My Style Touring Boot in Women's. Its important to stick with gender specific boots because men and women have different foot shapes.
