Tempo Microtex Bondcush Soft Bar Tape

Give your drop bar bike a little more cushion at the bars with the Tempo Microtex Bondcush Soft Bar Tape from Fi'zi:k. This tape features a soft texture and is designed for slip-free performance, lasting durability, and of course, great looks. If your bar tape has seen better days, few things can improve the ride as cost-effectively as new tape.

The Bondcush portion of the tape is a layered, mid-padding polymer foam that aids the absorption of vibrations, ideal for gravel roads, cyclocross, or anyone who favors a smoother ride. Its bonded to a soft-touch, matte, Microtex outer layer (similar to what we've experienced on its saddles) for 3mm of total thickness, creating a comfortable bar tape that soaks up road imperfections without losing that all-important road feel. Additionally, the bar tape wicks moisture and is offered in the colors Black, Green, Red, Yellow, and Orange.

    • A cushy synthetic bar tape with a soft touch
    • Bondcush polymer foam soaks up vibrations
    • Soft touch Microtex outer layer wraps well and provides a slip-free grip

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've used Fizik perfomance tape and it's great. I can't believe this comes from the same minds. It feels like velvet, scuffs easily, and I doubt it lasts until the fall. I'm shopping for a replacement and I'm considering Lizard Skins.

As someone who's used Lizard Skins, I wouldn't recommend that route either. It didn't last well for me, was difficult to remove and resuse, and the white discolored quickly. I'm back to Fizik Solocush Tacky 2.7mm
