As part of Fi'zi:k's Versus line, the Antares VSX K:ium Saddle features a 20mm channel along its center to relieve pressure on sensitive tissues. Soft, low-density cushioning surrounds the relief zone to further enhance comfort and eliminate the sharp ridge effect that many early adopters of pressure-relief channels were saddled with. Despite these comfort-enhancing additions, the Antares VSX still follows the same length and width dimensions as its race-ready Antares cousins, and the K:ium rails keep the saddle's weight low while absorbing road noise for a smoother, less fatiguing ride.
The carbon-reinforced nylon shell is designed to strategically flex just enough to provide give without feeling like a trampoline underneath you. The engineered flex teams with the saddle's race-inspired shape so that it won't impede your leg movements while pedaling. Fi'zi:k finishes the saddle with a durable Microtex cover, which loyally serves to protect the generous padding from exposure to the elements.
The Antares VSX falls into the chameleon category within Fi'zi:k 's Spine Concept guidelines, which is the brand's approach to finding the right saddle by identifying differences in spine flexibility among cyclists. The chameleon references cyclists with a moderate amount of spine flexibility who tend to be most comfortable on a wider, flatter platform.
