Faction's Prime collection consists of versatile skis ready to ride whatever snow's available in the backcountry on any given day, which can go from powdery to icy around a different aspect. The Prime 1.0 Ski is the lightest, skinniest ski in that collection, and it excels at high altitudes, spring mountaineering, and harvesting corn. Although its 90mm waist is ideal for firmer snow, the rocker tip and tail offer some float whenever you find softer snow on the north aspect.
Faction built this ski out of balsa, flax, and poplar wood for a lighter weight that can still hold a durable edge. Textreme carbon amplifies the ski's torsional rigidity without adding much weight. Faction was also able to add full-strength sidewalls and a titanal binding plate to ensure long-lasting durability while weighing around three pounds.
