Extrasport Deluxe Dog Personal Flotation Device
ExtrasportDeluxe Dog Personal Flotation Device

If you're worried about a dog-plus-canoe combo, outfit your pooch with Extrasport's Deluxe Dog PFD.

You're bringing your pup on his first canoe adventure, and you'd love to have an easy way to pluck him out of the water if he decides to take the plunge. Outfit your dog in Extrasport's Deluxe Dog PFD. A grab loop on the top of this dog life jacket makes it easier to control your pooch, and the flotation helps if you're concerned about super cold or wavy water.

Bulky, but it works

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We have been using this for a couple of years now. The quality is excellent, and I love the handle on the back. Chloe, however hates it.

Bulky, but it works

Works but large

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This fit our 14 lb dog loosely which was a surprise because an XS would just not fit onto her. Be ware of sizing. That said, it is a quality product and worked well, even a tad oversized, when Elle went off the paddleboard.

Great vest, careful on sizing!

I got this for my 90 lb. boxer. The vest was to long for his body, the rear closure snapped close right over his... well you know, would have been fine for a girl dog, but for him was to uncomfortable, had to get a different style.

    Good quality

No velcro so it doesn't pick up stickers; seams look much better than Outward Hound jacket, which always ripped. I would buy again.

I've got a one year old English Bulldog (Sir Winston Churchill "lookalike") with typical "short" legs (70+ lbs.) - - - will the "Extrasport Deluxe Dog PFD" be suitable for this "non-swimming" breed??? Many Thanks - Wes

Be careful with dog PFD's that have flotation under the belly, especially if your dog is not a super good swimmer. It tends to make the dog unbalanced in the water. The NRS Canine Flotation Device does not have the flotation under the dog's belly. It also lets the dog lay down more comfortably as well. I have been canoeing for most of my life and have had dogs as well. They are great canoeing companions!!
