Missing Specs

Here are some of the missing Specs on the Shelter

    Floor Size: 162 in x 114 in (13.5 ft x 9.5 ft)

    ok bug protection

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

we got this to keep the bugs out. well it kept the ones that could get in in and the others out. it wasnt 100% what i was expecting but it worked...i only got 1 mosquito bite that weekend. it did get quite hot inside. but it was fair trade...id rather be hot then get eaten alive. also the plastic top melted and broke so try and avoid placing it in direct sunlight.

    Easy Breezy

We set up our tent over the picnic table in J Tree for a cozy, bug free dining room

    Pretty nice!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got one of these for festivals and car camping, and I was pretty pleased!

The weather was pretty mild thankfully, so I didn't have to worry about any wind. Although I should say that it isn't squirrel proof, Those suckers will sneak right in and eat anything in sight!

It's pretty big, and fits over most picnic tables.

At the music festival, we actually pitched our 2 person tent inside of it for privacy, and then used the rest of the space to hang out.

The poles are pretty thick and heavy, but everything seems to be quite durable.

    Pretty nice!

Take it down in a wind storm!

Our friends had this tent beside us during a camping trip. Excellent way to keep the bugs (especially the mosquitoes). Unfortunately, a wind storm came by at night and blew everything down. Sleeping tents stayed up but this tent was going places. Always check the weather ahead of time for potential storm warnings!

Does NOT stay put in wind!

We bought this screen house for use at our home ( north central Maine, summertime). 4 pole design was not adequate for windy conditions -- it buckled within a few days & the center hub cracked. Customer service was excellent; we returned it and got full refund.

Well-made, but not good for windy conditions

I bought this shelter mainly for beach camping to keep the bugs at bay when we eat. It is a very well-made shelter, only if the wind is below 15MPH. We had a thunderstorm come through with a confirmed 25MPH wind gust and the top joint that connects the poles almost split in half. We shippied it back and were refunded our money, Backcountry has excellent customer service. All-in-all, I would recommend this shelter for use at your home, or if you know it going to storm, take it down.

No floor. You can purchase a mesh floor as an add on later though.

I oredered this screenhouse, but have since read reviews and some people say the frame and connectors are cheaply made and not very sturdy. Is this true? I hope not as I am so looking forward to using it for the first time.
            Thanks!

Write your question here...I am looking for a replacement screen house which is sturdy and has a removable canvas roof and a wooden floor. It also has a screen door. This screenhouse is not connected to my camping trailer. We;ve had one for many years but this last winter demolished it. I would like to have a square screenhouse. The previous one was octagon shaped and wasted a lot of space. This is nice to eat outside in the summer and not in the trailer. Can you help me? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
