ElanRipstick 96 Ski

Rippin' sticks.

Your summer dreams of shredding the steeps come alive this winter when you ride the Ripstick 96 Ski from Elan. This all-mountain freerider rips the resort whether it's a pow day or another groomer session. Its versatile 96mm waist includes Elan's unique Amphibio profile, which combines camber with free-floating rocker at the tip and tail.

Elan built the Ripstick with a TubeLite Core that includes a responsive, stable wood center and stiff fiberglass laminates to improve torsional rigidity at each turn. Also unique to Elan is the Ripstick's SST construction, which makes the ski easy to repair and difficult to damage thanks to durable sidewalls that direct power to the ski's edge and resists blow-outs so a sharky rock doesn't prematurely end your day.

  • All-mountain freerider excels on- and off-piste
  • Versatile 96mm waist rides soft and firm snow
  • Amphibio's rocker camber combo floats pow and cuts groomers
  • TubeLight core combines lightweight wood with stiff fiberglass
  • SST sidewall construction provides rapid and direct power

Extremely happy..

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I absolutely love these things... I'm a 30ish day-a-year skier... mostly in Alta (LCC, Utah) skier... meaning the vast majority of my time is spent off the corduroy... Yes I have other skis, wider skis, rockered skis... but every now and then, even in LLC, we have a bad snow year, (2017/18!!!!) and conditions are skied off, old, hardback, ice... ya know... like the East Coast;-)

So I need a pair of sticks for the crummy start to this season... and for a trip Colorado... After a week on these I love them. Not what I'd bust out if there was a foot of fresh (I'm still partial to rocker) but for normal inbounds resort conditions or those who prefer the pop of camber these things are fantastic. At first after flexing them manually I was worried they would be too soft and noodly (Sickdays)... Well, I think the ski very differently than they feel... they are very forgiving but have a top end much higher than I would ever imagine. Great skis!
