Everyday bag

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Have used this skiing, school, and moderate hikes. Large enough to fit all the necessary supplies for an average day but not to large for casual day usage. The bladder sleeve easily fits my 3l bladder and the shoulder straps are able to hold hose in place. Have found it to be quite durable to abuse.

The only pack you need!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this for a friend and he loves it. This pack is super versatile and designed for any adventure you throw at it.

One pack for a lifetime of uses.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've seriously had this same pack since 2008! I've lived at resorts and worn this thing almost every day. I love taking it with me, especially when I'm riding with friends and we never know where we are going to end up, or how long we are going to stay out. It has just the right amount of pockets and storage while also being pretty slim while on. The fleece lined goggle pocket is awesome. I've also used the snowboard carry feature quite a bit and it works great. Almost 10 years and still going strong!

One pack for a lifetime of uses.

Versatile is right!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Plenty of other reviews have used the word, but this pack has been quite the chameleon for me. I got it 3 years ago to carry some snacks, extra layers, and fluids while snowboarding. It does that flawlessly and cinches snug enough to my back so I forget about it during tight tree runs. Additionally, the 20L capacity ended up being just right for day hikes, bouldering sessions and even a few overnight summer backpacking trips. As a bonus, the pack opens up completely flat. This makes it super easy to use every cubic inch of available space. I've been able to take this as a carry on and use it as my sole piece of luggage for a couple long weekend trips. The compression straps came in handy by taking some of the stress off the zippers when I got a little too zealous with my packing efforts. The only wear and tear I've seen has been some scuffs on the bottom from me butt scooting down granite, but that's to be expected. This continues to be my go to pack for short jaunts year round. Great piece of gear!

this is the perfect pack for single day excursions. cinches down so it doesn't feel cumbersomb but is still easy to adjust for the perfect fit.

Super Versatile

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this pack! I use it for practically everything. From shredding the mountain to hauling my laptop to and from work. The pockets and different compartments add ultimate functionality. For the mountains, the fleece-lined goggle pocket and snowboard carrying straps are awesome. Perfect size as well! Not too bulky and not too small for wherever your adventures may take you.

Great value ski/snowboard pack!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great pack. I've carried both skies and snowboards with it and it works great. There is room to carry essential items as well. It also works for a good day pack. For the price it is a great option. Would recommend!

Awesome Versatile Pack!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Perfect pack for some many uses! I wear this pack to work, use it for trips, and especially for snowboarding. The adjustable chest and waist straps give you a nice secure fit no matter where you're riding. The Heli Pro 20L by Dakine is a super comfy pack, as well as a great pack for just about anything you want to do with it. Comes in many awesome designs, and is made of an extremely durable polyester material. It holds everything I need it to hold, and even comes at a great price. I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a pack that is going to hold up, and that they can be highly active with on a daily basis!

Replacement gift

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this as a gift for my brother. He loves this bag but his old one was stolen.

One of the best packs I've owned

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love my Heli Pro back pack. I rock it to work, and then hop on the mountain bike for my ride home after with all my mtb gear. I then load it up with all my ski gear for the weekend. This pack works for everything that I do. If you want to see the pack in action, you can see some pretty good shots of my rocking in on my Soul id profile. https://soulid.me/bensampson/photos#theatre/1/a538b0e4b50ac1a37840d3241f11981e

Awesome pack for the price!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this pack with the intention of using it everyday for work and also for hitch hiking to the Bird. I frequently hitch or ride the ski bus for skiing. I used to carry my 38L backcountry ski bag, but always hated having to ski resort laps in it. This gives me enough room to carry the essentials for a day on my back, but isn't bulky enough for me to over-pack like my other bag

The bag is made with durable outer materials. It has a large pocket with a laptop/hydration sleeve. The smaller pocket for avy tools probably would not fit my large Voile shovel blade, but since I didn't buy it for backcountry that is not a large concern for me. The goggle pocket can be used for many things, including goggles, and I like that feature. The straps don't feel welded on, but they hold up nicely so far even with my ski boots strapped to the outside. The adjustment straps are plenty and allow you to customize your fit.

As a side/backcountry bag, this wouldn't be my first choice. There are better options, but this one would work if money is your biggest concern. It has the features you need and will keep your wallet from crying.

Not a very good pack for Avy Tools

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

No sleeve for probe, handle only fits on outside. The only place your tools fit is in the main compartment so you will get additional layers and other items wet with snow covered tools being stored in same place. You have to open the main compartment that is under a few straps for critical tools, and undo strap on outside to get shovel handle which will slow you down when seconds count.

I'm returning this for a pack that has a front pocket that will hold my shovel (both parts) and my probe for easy access and still has a main compartment for other items that I need and want to keep dry. I'm looking at the Black Diamond and Patagonia bag.

Great pack

I got this backpack just for everyday use about 3 weeks ago and I have been very happy with it. It has a lot of pockets that are various sizes for different objects. When I am looking for a backpack that is one of the things I look for, pockets that very in sizes and have several different purposes. I have brought it on a hike and it has a very nice waist strap that takes the pressure off your lower back. Very comfy backpack and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for an upgrade. It is also nice that is comes in so many cool colors to choose from.
