Bring everything, plus the kitchen sink.

Be prepared and organized for a plane ride to Hawaii with the Dakine Concourse 30L Backpack. The large 30L capacity allows you to bring everything you need for your trip and more; go ahead and throw in that sweatshirt, third book, or oversized bag of candy if it makes you comfortable. You have room for it. To ensure you are not holding up traffic in the busy airport terminal, this pack features a top loadable organizer pocket similar to big backpacking bags. This allows you to keep your chapstick, note book and other small items handy and prevents them from falling deep into your bag never to be seen again. In addition to the top access pocket there are Specialized sunglasses, headphone and water bottle pockets that encourage organization.

The Concourse 30L also has an external access, padded laptop sleeve that can fit computers with screens up to 17in. The external access lets you breeze through security without skipping a beat—as long as your shoes aren't tied too tight.

    • A feature packed backpack ideal for the organized traveler
    • 30L of space lets you bring a couple just-in-case items
    • The 17in padded sleeve protects your computer in transit
    • Top organizer gives you quick access to smaller items
    • A plethora of pockets keep you organized for the whole trip

    Fits everything

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Tried out a number of packs, was looking for a good backpack for commuting on flights and this one could fit a laptop, change of clothes including shoes, sunglasses, toiletries, and even some food while still having space. It’s also not huge, when wearing it looks like a backpacking pack (sits higher and the rounded top), and the plum color is more maroon than purple. Haven’t taken it on a flight yet but will fit under the chair in front of you when on a plane, but if you stuff it full, it will be tight.

Things that make it different than most backpacks: the laptop sleeve is accessible through a zipper on the side, as opposed to the top. You can get to it from the top, but you slip the laptop in sideways as opposed to dropping it in. Which I like because it helps keep it separate (and from crap falling in).

Also, the top main zipper opens horizontally toward where your neck would be if wearing it as opposed to vertically top down the sides. Nice for security—no one can sneak into your bag, but takes some getting used to. Nice for a flight so you can open the top and reach down into it for easy access.

Lots of compartments. There’s always space to separate your things. Love it.

    Best travel pack

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was looking for a big all around backpack for traveling that can handle a laptop, iPad, some books, headphones, sunglasses, my purse, and a spare jacket or sweater.
This does that with room to spare and in an easy to access way. There is a dedicated pocket or spot for all of these things without feeling like I am stuffing them inside. It stacks up a little taller versus out so the weight sits evenly and the straps on this pack are amazing. I don’t feel like I am wearing hardly anything. Really just a huge fan over and over on this one. I started using it as my daily backpack for when I am off to study or work now too.

Hello! How do you feel about this bag from the everyday carry perspective? In particular, is it kind too big/heavy to serve as an everyday carry? I realize the answer I seek will be subjective. My hope is to find a pack that can function in a hybrid role, both being able to pack a weekend's worth of clothes for a short trip and serving as a daypack once I arrive at my destination.

This backpack is amazing. its comfortable. the straps are perfect. it fits all the stuff i need to travel. i can comfortably carry 2 laptops, a tablet, planner, water bottle, jacket(windbreaker), travel case(for phone charger, cables, etc.), has enough pockets to hold my headphones, business cards, sunglasses, and small essentials i might need. im sure i could use it as a weekend getaway bag too! fits great on a plane. easily has become my favorite backpack. not to mention that cordura fabric is amazing.
