  • An Air Flow backpanel keeps you cool in deep pow and on sunny trails

  • Trekking poles slide into the special loop for hands-free scrambling and hiking

Weekend Traveler

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Dakine really nailed it with the Canyon series of packs. Technically sound and lifestyle inspired, the packs will work for all pursuits.

I went with the 24L for added space. I really love the design, taller/longer with a slim profile, and a top loading system that opens really nicely for packing. Thoughtful design all around. I was most impressed with the pockets through out. Three on the exterior, a larger one on top, a small fleece lined pocket in the middle for a phone and a bonus pocket for small items at the base. The interior has a larger laptop/bladder sleeve, and another small secret pocket - ideal for stashing import documents while traveling.

The exterior fabric is burly, definitely designed to take some abuse. Technically speaking, the back panel works well for ventilation and the harness straps are reinforced at the yolk/neck of the pack for carrying heavy stuff.

All in all, Dakine really nailed, it's the Dakine DNA I'd expect to see in a pack with all of the technical feature we outdoorsy folks require.

I love this casual pack!

I was thinking of getting a hiking pack for myself but I ended up getting eyes for this one and couldn't convince myself to get another pack! I love the way it loads up at the top, the sleeve on the front the hook in the sleeve to hold up your Hydrapak hydration bladder. It is a bit heavy but you can cram a whole weekend in there! This is my favorite traveling piece to pair with my Timberline Rolling Carry on Bag!

I was so reluctant to give up my old (25 years?) pack and get one online. I'm so glad that I did. I like the length, the many pockets, the lovely colors, and the comfort. It's perfect!
