Craft Active Comfort RN Base Layer - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Layering basics with crafty style.

The men's, short-sleeved Roundneck Base Layer marks a big step in a new direction for Craft. With a semi-fitted cut that sits in stark contrast to Craft's reputation for tight, close-fitting base layers, the Active Comfort line wraps Craft's renowned attention to quality details in a package that eagerly transitions from active to casual applications. It layers sleekly under a cycling jersey for added warmth, stands alone running hill repeats, or outfits a trip to the grocery store with ease.

Made from lightweight, warming yarns featuring Lycra-free stretch and laid out with Craft's body mapping design, this base layer boasts a fit that comfortably moves with you without bunching or restriction. Its seamless design further enhances the fit and eliminates the uncomfortable chafing experienced with many seamed tops.

Nice

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I needed a base layer for commuting; it has to look civilian enough to wear under a shirt at work yet be sporty enough for a medium-effort commute. This one does it at half the price of merino.

The size is consistent with Craft/Euro. Most of my kit is medium so I got M and it's just a tiny bit loose, perfect. My US size is small.

One issue: the sleeves are very long and they stick out from a polo shirt by over an inch , an interesting look (obviously not a problem with long-sleeve shirts)

Love it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

New favorite base layer... my count is now up to 3 of these. I have used this shirt as a stand alone jersey for mountain biking on 80 degree days and as a base layer road riding, fat biking, nordic skiing & ski touring. It has a hint of warming effect, but breathes incredibly well for the harder efforts or warmer days - one of the few base layers that can really handle multiple laps of ski touring at 0 deg. Certainly fits snug, but true to other Craft clothing. The best fabric Craft has developed to date.
