    Why We Like The Grand Sport Race Tires

    Continental's Grand Sport Race Tires are a study in balance. Their NyTech breaker mimics KEVLAR's resistance to punctures but with a weight and rolling resistance that stay closer to the low levels we expect from racing tires. The Pure Grip Compound in their tread strikes a similar compromise, straddling the intersection of training durability, racing grip, and a price point that lets you run the tire for both applications without guilt.     Great tires

    Had them in 25c. They are smooth, sticky and pretty much bulletproof. I rode well over 4,000 miles on my last pair and only had two punctures. In both cases casing was punctured and debris was kicked out. In one case I didn’t realize I had a flat until the next day. Measure up a little bigger, maybe a 26c which helps with smoothness. Only negative I have for them is they were difficult to change the first time I got a flat, but with so few it’s almost a nonissue. I don’t know how they compare to 5000s but it’s almost not worth finding out since you’re probably in diminishing returns territory between the two tires (at least for most riders).

    Switched back to Rubino Pro 3s and I regret it and will be going back after they wear out.

    These tires roll nicely, and are pretty light weight, specially for the price. But I wouldn't recommend them for commuting (roads) as they're not too durable, and go smooth rather quickly. I think I put maybe 250miles on mine before the thread was fully gone, and the tires started disintegrating, to the point I got two flats in a 5 mile ride.

    In my experience, they roll great, and I'll probably buy them again for long weekend rides, just not for my daily commute on pretty well maintained roads, but with plenty debris accumulated on the bike lane.

    This is a good all around tire. It is heavy duty, lasts awhile, and installs/removes easily enough. Down sides: it is a bit heavy and slower rolling.

    These are great tires with a solid compound. Being from Utah roads can be very harsh especially with all the road work during the summer. I have found these tires to be very solid and grippy for those road conditions.

    Consistent performance`

      28mm version provides enough cushion for less-than ideal roads, and still rolls well and has adequate grip. Hard to beat at the price.

      I ordered a pair of the GS race tires a couple of weeks ago and, much like any other Continental road tires I've run, they've been great. Easy to mound, fast enough, good grip, and, if the promises of riding buddies hold true, a little more longevity than the GP 4000 S II's that I typically run. As an XC mtb racer, whose road whip is more of a training bike, I figured that at this price, it would make an excellent winter tire choice. Love 'em so far!

      These tires are really great. I have run Continental tires on all my bikes for the past few years and I think that they make some of the most durable and high quality rubber.

      Set it and forget it.

        This is my go to road tire of choice. While not the lightest bell at the ball, it certainly is the most consistent. Be it rain, dirt, hot pavement, etc. These tires wear well, are puncture resistant and I am always amazed the miles I am able to get out of a pair,.

        I bought these for my fixed speed and am very happy with the results. I went with the 28mm and the size of the tire seems to absorb the bad Utah roads much better than my previous setup (25mm).
