Cyclocross courses are notoriously muddy, but every once in a while you encounter a dry one, which is the anomaly that the Continental Cyclocross Speed  Clincher Tire was made for. It's not overly complicated, with a single-compound rubber and bombproof Kevlar bead, but it's diamond-shaped center knobs keep you rolling at pace and the 180 TPI casing provides a smooth, supple feel that conforms to the terrain for serious smoothness and great grip, even without traditional chunky knobs.

Fast rolling and great on rough pavement

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Used this as a fast commute tire this past winter in the constant rain and cold of Seattle, WA. It held up great, had good traction in the wet and was very fast rolling.

GOOD Clincher NOT GOOD tubeless

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This tire is fast on hard pack terrain and is pretty good as a standard clincher. However, I had it set up as tubeless by my lbs and have had nothing but problems. The continental website says "tubeless ready" and they were mounted on stans grail rims. The front tire lasted 2 miles and the rear was less than a mile. I definitely would NOT RECOMMEND FOR TUBELESS SETUPS.

Is this tire tubeless ready?

This is not a tubeless tire but some people have had luck with the right rim combination and a Stan's setup.
