Solid Hiking Shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34

I just got the Columbia Titan Peak Hiking Shorts and so far I like them. The 4-way stretch is great, and I also like the removable belt option. Zippered hand pockets are great - no need to worry about stuff accidentally bouncing out. Fit is true to size for me.

Poor Fit and Construction

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 34x10

I purchased these shorts with the Mountain Hardware Chockstone Midweight Active Shorts and the two are not even comparable.

The Colombia shorts fit okay, but thankfully I'm fairly thin, because they didn't leave much room in the butt. I wore them around the house for a bit after receiving my package just to try them out before I threw them in the wash. When they came out, the hem at the bottom of one of the legs has already come out and ~2 inches is un-sewn.

While I'm sure I'll still wear them, I'm pretty disappointed in Colombia's quality, and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.
