ColumbiaPowder Lite Puffer Down Jacket - Boys'

A jacket that keeps up with your boy's go-to attitude in the snow.

It seems like every winter morning your boy wants to go out and play in the snow. Get a jacket that makes his dreams come true with the Columbia Boys' Powder Lite Puffer Down Jacket. The polyester Storm Lite DP II shell keeps him dry when he's outdoors, and the Omni-Shield DWR coating fends off snowflakes and helps the jacket dry quicly. Its polyester faux down insulation warms your boy to the core even when wet so you can let him play outside longer. A nylon 210T taffeta lining is very smooth so you can slide this jacket over layers easily. The Puffer's storm hood is fully adjustable so he can cinch it down tight when his friends bury him in the snow.

It does get soaked in rain

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I forgot to mention, that it does get drenched through and through in rain or if my child uses it while washing the car with a spray hose. Just soaked to the core! But it washes well.

Nice jakcet, a bit light weight.

My son loves his jacket but says it is not as warm as his twin brother's 700 fill down hooded Marmot jacket (Marmot Hangtime Down). Also, after 6 months, the 9 year-old boy came home with a rip in it, on the front near his front hip. So, I am ordering him a Marmot hangtime Down jacket for next year, an also one for the 5 year-old. But this one was okay, warm enough with bibs to get him through the winter at 6500 ft elevation and lots of snow for many many months. I ordered one of the Columbia ones for my 5 year-old, who is chunky, and his belly stopped fitting in it eventually. So, it is not for round kids, but for more thin-ish kids. The Marmot works for round bellied kids, though.

Hi son had a similar jacket he had grown out of so ordered this coat in his current size. Jacket fits great and is warm but lightweight, it's slim fit. He has only worn it twice and is having a major zipper issue. Unfortunately having to send it back.

Perfect

    My girl like it

    Unanswered Question

Would an XL fit me, i'm about 5'5 with a 30in waist

disappointed, jacket is cute, BUT ODD

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Got this red jacket for our 4 yr old in XS. This is a good looking lightweight, fall jacket, not winter. It fits great along his torso, he's tall and slender for his age. HOWEVER, the sleeves on this coat are ridiculously oversized and long, they are the length of pant legs. Shouldn't the designer of these coats have this sleeve issue remedied before selling these defective jackets and now I have to pay to return this abomination! Save yourself the hassle, do not buy and keep looking. And now I have to make a trip to the the post office for the return and to the local department store to buy a coat when thats what I wanted to avoid by buying online.

Nice looking coat but poor quality

We bought this coat 2 months ago for my 10 year old son and he loved it. I (his mom) think it is poorly made. No matter how many times it is washed, it always looks dirty; the pockets are tearing at the seams and the stuffing is coming out. We have had this coat for only 2 months and I am hoping it will last through the winter. I definitely won't be able to hand it down to his brother. Very disappointed in the quality of this coat.

what does the insulation rating of 150g...

what does the insulation rating of 150g mean......how cold is this coat supposed to be good to????

    Best Answer

The insulation rating means that there are 150 grams of insulation throughout the body of the coat. Comfort ratings depend on each person so everyone tries to stay away from actual temperature ratings. I would say if you are layering underneath, this coat would probably be warm enough down to about 20 or so degrees. This really depends on how warm the person normally is since each person is different.

I think the weight rating is for the insulation in bulk. 150g/yard fabric. It varies with the size of the garment how much insulation is used. Keep in mind I haven't read how warm this insulation is.

    Great Buy

I bought this for my 9 year old boy. As we are heading into fall he needed a solid puff. He's small for a 9 year old, running just over 4ft the small size was perfect for him. Great looking jacket, good buy.
