Clifbar Clif Shot Bloks

Energy never tasted so good.

Clif Bar's Clif Shot Bloks are basically advanced fruit snacks for grown-ups, and we're so down with that. While the taste and texture are reminiscent of childhood, the content of Shot Bloks is specially designed to replace the key carbs and electrolytes that you burn through when you're riding, running, hiking, or doing any other -ing. Each order comes with 18 packages of 6 Shot Bloks, and each package contains 200 calories, plus vital salts and sugars to keep you going. The variety of flavors means that you'll be able to find your favorite, and the convenient sleeve-style package is easy to open and slip into a pocket when you're on the move. Some flavors have extra sodium, if your sweat is particularly salty, and some are loaded up with caffeine, so you can get an extra boost to get you over the top of that tough climb.

Easily digestible calories!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are an easy and tasty way to get the calories in you while on the bike! The Salted Watermelon and Ginger Ale flavors are surprisingly refreshing. Do not let your friends know you are carrying, they will try and get at your stash the entire trip. Also, hide from the kids, they are always after my "bike snacks" now.

Chewy energy

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My only gripe is that they can be difficult to open with one hand/teeth while riding your bike. However they are really easy to eat two at a time and I will use one package on a 50 mile bike ride and it is almost like you can feel the energy kick in. I like that Clif uses a variety of flavors as well. I take them mountain biking and road biking. I like to keep an emergency stash in my backpack or saddle bag just in case!

Tasty Trail Gummies

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These square gummies are so good on the trail! Adds a little pep to your step. I like all the fruity flavors that I've tried, and the caffeine ones are genius. I only wish I could get a mixed box of flavors. Also, thankfully these are made without gelatin, so unlike most gummies they are vegetarian-friendly!

Great flavor!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've pretty much tried all the Shot Blocks and loved them all. I'm now getting more of them as the youngest has picked up the sport and we go through them constantly. They work great, easy to swallow and doesn't have any side effects on either one of us.

These are Amazing!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got the fruit punch flavor with 25mg of caffeine and they taste so good you wanna eat the whole package. Plus they're packed with energy. My favorite energy chew out there by far.

They work

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

They are the only solid food I can get down at race pace in the heat. They were the majority of calories I ate for my last 100 mile mountain bike race and although not gourmet dining they got me through.

Caffeeeeeeine! - Black Cherry

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love coffee, tea, and caffeine in general, but when camping/climbing/hiking, I'm never able to just make another cup in the middle of the day. Enter the black cherry flavored bloks!

If you eat the whole package, 100mg caffeine, or pretty much a cup o joe. A great pick me up while out there getting after it.

fits small...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like this candy. Because it can be passed off as not candy. It's a performance enhancer. I go with the black cherry.

Blok Up

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Do you want to ride faster, climb stronger, and be the envy of all of your friends on the boot pack? If you said yes, you'll need some Shot Bloks to help you get there. Delicious, easy to consume on the go, and even offering a little bit of caffeine in some flavors, it is the best way to get that extra sugar boost when you need it.

Most Consistently Consistent

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Our cycling food can vary quite a bit in consistency as temperatures change. Everything becomes a challenge below freezing; I tend to stick to these and Gu's because my dental insurance kinda sucks and so does trying to eat a frozen clif bar with a few old rickety fillings to man the charge.

When it gets hot, bars turn to mush and Gu's just become an even quicker and less painful affair. These become a little softer, but still hold their shape well. I've ridden for hours in 100+ degree heat with these in my pocket and they've held up just fine.

Kudos to Clif for always trying new flavors, but please never take salted watermelon away from us.

give an energy boost and stop the hanger

love these things especially the caffeine version.

    not to bad

Great for if my energy level is getting low, but not sure if I like them or not. For me it as a different taste that I'm not use to.

      Fast Energy, Tastes Great

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had a bunch of different energy chews and I have to say I like Cliff's version best so far. They taste just like normal fruit snacks with no weird after taste or anything like that. They come in a nice compact block tube and are easy to throw in any bike pack. Strawberry is BOMB!!

      Taste great

Tropical Punch. Great flavor, easy to eat while riding and settle well in the stomach.

      Go buy some

      Black cherry!

Hands down favorite on the bike food! The black cherry tastes great and refreshing with just the right amount of caffeine! Try them out!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

        The title says it all

Easy to eat and keeps the legs going

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

By far my favorite food gel while I'm on the move. Particularly great for mountain biking because you can throw it in the back of the jersey and open and eat with one hand easily. They provide quick energy / simple sugars, don't upset the stomach and are really easy / quick to eat. My favorite is the cran-razz but I've tried other flavors and thought they were pretty good as well.

        Fruit snacks on the trail!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These have been my favorite trail snack for a quick energy injection for years, and I'm so happy that Clifbar has worked on taste and packaging over the years. The current packaging is really handy for dispensing a few blocks at a time, then you can twist the package closed and pop it back in your pack without worrying they will fall out. I like the "red" flavors best, but have heard good things about all of the current flavors. Not the best choice for sustaining energy during a long endurance event, but great for a quick pick me up when some sugar is needed.
