ZX/1 Classic Sandal

The Chaco Women's ZX/1 Classic Sandal takes a modern approach to Chaco's legendary support and go-anywhere attitude. Made from eight solid component parts, the ZX/1 Classic delivers reliable performance across widely varying environments, ranging from slick shorelines to craggy deserts. The double-strapped webbing creates a custom fit without slippage, thanks to the pull-through strap design and sturdy ladder lock buckle.

Staying true to Chaco's water-friendly heritage, the ZX/1 Classic sports a textured polyurethane footbed for extra grip when it's wet. The LUVSEAT midsole absorbs impact from uneven terrain with its ergonomically shaped foam. Another key component of the sandal's overall stability lies within its ChacoGrip rubber sole. This rubber sole differs from the competition with its aggressive lugs, which supply gobs of traction across wet surfaces and rocky trails.

  • Pull-through adjustable webbing straps
  • Injection-molded ladder lock buckle
  • Textured footbed with antimicrobial treatment
  • LUVSEAT midsole (polyurethane)
  • ChacoGrip rubber sole (3mm lug depth)

Chaco Love

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have owned and loved a pair of chacos for several years now that have the big toe loop. While I love that pair, I always run into the problem where my toes get cold as the sunlight fades, I wish I could wear socks with my sandals. So I picked up a pair of these for a recent sea kayaking trip and looooved them. Same amazing quality as my other pair, and the added bonus of being able to wear socks with them around the campsite. I even ended up using them during the day in my kayak with a pair of neoprene socks!

Great Sandal!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My wife is in love with how comfortable these Chacos are. They are her first pair of Chacos but NOT her last!

My True Love

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I honestly wear these things everywhere, all the time . Throw some socks on and you have a year-round shoe, not to mention an all-terrain shoe. But in all seriousness, these really are an excellent shoe. They're supportive, highly adjustable, and they are super easy to get on and off. I've had my first pair for almost 3.5 years and they are still in great condition.
If you're in between sizes, I would definitely recommend sizing up because your heel will be hanging over the back if you don't.

Smaller than I expected

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My last pair of Chacos are worn out, and they were a men's 9. According to the Chaco's sizing guide, a men's 9 is the equivalent of a women's 10. The women's 10 that I ordered was significantly smaller than the pair I was trying to replace. They are also MUCH narrower, and I have a wide foot, so I'm going to stick with the men's from here on out. I'm sharing in case it's helpful for others, but I don't feel it warrants a negative rating for the just didn't work with my massive feet:)

Smaller than I expected

Good Support

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got these sandals for my friend for her birthday. She needed supportive and comfortable shoes for work. Her only complaint is the location of the buckle/strap. It's kind of in a awkward spot right on top of the foot.... Other than that, she loves them.

Great water shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great to wear on a hike to your favorite lake or river!

Wears all the time

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave these as a gift to my daughter. She wears them all the time... currently traveling down the Amazon on a humanitarian trip and prior to that in all of her everyday activities. She wasn't sure about them at first because the straps around the toes can't be adjusted, but in the end, they fit great, and are comfortable and sturdy for all of her activities.

Must try on

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

These shoes just do not fit my foot correctly. I wear either a 5.5 or 6 in most shoes but these I can't even wear a 5 they are still too large. I went to a shoe store as well and tried on multiple version and sizes and none fit my foot. Either the straps are too loose or too tight and the sole of the foot is always too large. I would definitely recommend trying these shoes on before buying. I found that every pair fits a bit different.

Amazing Shoes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shoes are my absolute favorite shoes EVER. I use them all the time - from gardening, to hiking, camping, travel, and just regular everyday use. I have the Burst Blue in size 6 Women's. The quality of these shoes are definitely noticeable. These shoes are tough and sturdy. I have ordered a pair for my best friend because they are literally the best shoes ever!

Comfortable for Wide Feet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 9

I bought these as a gift for my grandmother, this is what she said:

"I have pretty wide feet that have undergone some serious serious and major problems. It is hard for me to find shoes that both fit, and are comfortable for long periods of time. I have worn these a few times and love them. They are wide enough for my feet and the opening does not restrict my problem toes. I can wear these all day and last longer than I normally would with regular sandals."

These are the best things ever they are so comfy and it's so nice how you don't have to worry about them falling off. I highly recommend some chacos

    Chacos are our favorite

We have several pair of Chacos in our family. So comfortable. True to size. Well worth the money!!

    Must Have Adventure Sandal

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6.0

I tried about 4 different pairs of Chacos before ending up on these ones. I first started with the ZX/2s but the toe part just wasn't working for me. The toe was too tight, and it wasn't allowing my foot to go all the way to the end, leaving my heel hanging off the back of the shoe. I even tried going up a size in those, but still wasn't working. I'm super happy with this style though. It doesn't pinch on that big toe, and lets my foot sit nicely on the shoe. I am a size 6.5 and went with a 6.0 in this style. If you're a half size, you may need to try both the size above and below to find your perfect fit. The straps are all adjustable, so you can adjust how tight it is on the top of the toes, foot, and around the ankle to give you the perfect fit. I haven't worn these in water yet, but based on other reviews, I'm sure they'll do superb.

    Happy with my new Chacos

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: 9

I've had an old reliable pair of Chacos that I wear everywhere in season -- they look good and they go everywhere. My new Chacos are as comfortable and versatile as my old reliable pair, and the double strap is attractive.
My normal shoe size is 9-1/2 narrow; I ordered size 9 (same size as my old reliable Chacos) and they fit fine. (I suppose if I had wider feet I might prefer a larger size.)
My one complaint is the lack of Vibram soles on my new-model sandals.

    Awesome for water and trail

    • Fit: True to size

I love these shoes. I find the narrower webbing to be really comfortable and also nice looking. These are an essential for travel because they are so versatile. Great traction for wading across rivers, works well for day hiking even on technical terrain. The best part is they also look nice just in case you go out after your adventure. All the fun colors made it really easy to find a pair for myself as well as my two teenage daughters(14,19) They love them!
I prefer this style that does not incorporate a big toe strap. Reason being that it is more comfortable and also if you are taking them backpacking or somewhere that it may get cold you can always layer with a pair of socks(not the most fashionable!) My girls wear 8 and the 8 fits perfect. I wear 8.5-9 and the 9 fits great.
