Comfy foot huggers
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I DO NOT historically have a "Chaco" foot. Read: high arches.
By that token, my lower-arched foot is so excited to find this particular Chaco.
The footbed feels sturdy, and still has enough cushion to add some cush-comfort. The super-extra-wide strap is wonderful for keeping the foot in place. I tried some other Chaco flip flops with skinnier straps and couldn't keep them on. This strap adds comfort and function.
Also, I REALLY needed a flip flop that would be impervious to sharp objects piercing my foot through the sole, AND I didn't want to fully sacrifice a little bit of cushion to do it.
True Story: A sharp stick went clear through the bottom of my old, cheap, foamy flip flops and stabbed me in the bottom of the foot. YES, there was blood. LOTS of blood, and a few tears, and good friends pulling things out of my foot and rushing around to find hydrogen peroxide to douse the situation, and trying to remember if my tetnis shot is up to date.
So, while these look like they are made to handle cocktails on the deck, they are about to get used regularly, especially while camping in the woods (and also for cocktails).
