Old school is new again.

Protect your palms in retro style with the Castelli Trofeo Gloves. Pairing old-school styling with new-school fabrics, these gloves feature a breathable mesh backing and durable, perforated Clarino palms to keep your hands comfortable and dry even on hot days and rough roads. The Trofeo Gloves include an adjustable hook-and-loop closure at the wrist to minimize gaps or pinching, while articulation at the thumb and palms maintains finger dexterity as you reposition on the bars. To cap things off, Castelli incorporates a central pull tab for easy removal.

Small compared to other Castelli gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Along with others' comments about velcro, these gloves fit much tighter than other Castelli gloves. Recommend one size up if you want a super lightweight glove.

Comfortable but flawed

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

These are well padded and shaped but have three issues. First, the way they close they leave a little hole on the back of your hand--you're going to develop a nickel-sized tan spot. Second, the Velcro is a very fine mesh, and doesn't stay closed. Third, the glove is very light, apparently for hotter weather, but there is very little absorbent material for wiping sweat or other liquids that may need honking out of your head. They end up being pretty frustrating on longer hotter rides.

Velcro doesn't stay fastened

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

First ride, the Velcro came undone 4 or 5 times over a 25-mile ride. Different design from prior pairs of Castelli gloves I've owned.

In short, Velcro doesn't align well and then doesn't hold.
