Perfect Fit

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

You have to pay attention to the fit/size/measurements of each Castelli item as some models have different measurements for the same size. Use a tape measure to measure your chest and waist and reference the sizing chart for that specific piece. That being said, this fits perfectly, almost a tailored fit (I can't put on any weight). For most tops, I'm a small but went with a medium. I wore it on a low to mid-60ºF ride that had a brief drizzle and I stayed warm and dry. I only had a light sleeveless base layer. I'd go with a much warmer base layer for colder temps. I like that it has 2 front zippers to ventilate if it gets a bit warm. While Castelli is a bit pricey, I do think it's worth it because I'll be comfortable and it'll last a really long time.

Great jacket

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I am 5' 9 162 lbs and the xl fits well. The jacket is a little tight in the forearms but not uncomfortable. As a result, I can only wear a wool base layer underneath. However, I am super comfortable at around 42 degrees F to 36 F with that setup. I layer on top of the jacket in colder temps. Can unzip above that temp. Like the jacket's earlier version, you stay warm and not sweaty. Don't know how they do it.

Winter jersey

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Ridiculously small. I had a hard time getting my hands through the sleeves. Its thin and feels like plastic. The medium would fit someone that is 5'7" and 130 lbs. If I got a larger size, then it would be too long. Sent it back. It seems that manufacturers thing that everyone wants skintight garments, and they are built like a pro.

Runs VERY small

Usually wear a medium, ordered large. Like putting on a Barbie sized jacket, couldn't even zip it up. Order 2-3 sizes bigger than your usual fit

Caution- Runs VERY Small

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

5 Star for quality. Amazing jacket. But it runs VERY small. I almost exclusively use Castelli Cycling products. All my Castelli Jerseys are XL. I got this jacket in 2XL and it is way too small. I need to return, and try the 3XL but it looks they are not available and i will miss out on this awesome jacket.

Great at its job

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

To start I thought about giving it a 4 for fit, BUT I can?t blame clothing companies for being fat! Definitely odd that a US XL fits me but this 3XL just barely does, but that?s what shopping around will teach you. Anyway onto the product effectiveness. It blocks out just enough cold for you to stay warm, but let?s out enough sweat to keep you cool. The vents on the side come in handy for those cold, but not so cold days. And finally, the volt color is vibrant and will definitely turn some heads which means I hopefully won?t get hit by a driver. Overall happy I bought this. Excited to use it for more rides!

Great Jersey for Chilly Weather

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have an older Perfetto in short sleeve and have loved that with arm warmers for cooler weather in the spring and fall. I bought the new one in long sleeve for deeper into fall and early winter. Very happy with the new Gore-Tex Infinium matierial -- virtually windproof and I've found it plenty breathable, especially with the alternate material under the arms. The small flap over the full zipper is a nice improvement on the original Perfetto -- it eliminates wind leaking through the front. As everyone has noted with Castelli jerseys, the fit is a clean snug race fit. Perfect for me -- cuts the wind and there is just enough room for a base- and mid-layer if needed (...but I'm kinda thin). I bought the high-visibility orange and it is almost flourescent -- great for rides in or around the woods during hunting season, or catching the eyes of drivers at dusk. If you haven't had a jersey from Castelli before and are looking to layer under this, defnitely size up one or two. Reallly great jersey!

Fantastic jacket but runs VERY small!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a really great quality jacket, which you'd expect from Castelli at this price point. I initially ordered the XL (my usual Castelli size) but had to send it straight back as it was strangely really small and I could barely put it on; so went up to 2XL. It's definitely a race-fit design, which I prefer when riding in these breezy fall/winter months but doesn't leave much room if you want to layer up. I've ridden it on a 45-50F ride and it was perfect with a thin base layer, and could really notice the breathability. Went for the bright orange which looks awesome and provides good visibility for those dark winter mornings/evenings. Great service from Backcountry as always.
