Need a jacket for the shoulder seasons? This jacket has you covered. Need a warm jersey for the days that it’s just too warm to hide your arms in a jacket but too cold to use your summer jersey? This jacket has you covered. What about those days when the ride starts cold but gets progressively warmer? This jacket has you covered!
The thing I love most about this jacket is the versatility that it gives me to ride in so many different conditions. I’m not afraid to take it out in a bit of rain or some chilly wind. The RoS (Rain or Shine) tech they have in it makes it ideal to ride in almost any weather if you have the right layers to go with it. I found that for me, this jacket was ideal with just a baselayer in the 45-55° range with the sleeves on. I could probably wear it up to maybe 60-65° if I needed to without the sleeves, although it hasn’t been warm enough to try that yet.
I personally got the Savile Blue and went up to an XL for sizing. I’m about 5’9 and 175 lbs. I prefer my jackets to not be skin tight like my summer jerseys, but I could probably have fit an L just fine on this one. I like the XL for myself though. It feels like the right size.
The pockets on this jacket are well sized and allow for you to carry any other cold weather gear you might need for your rides to allow you to ride longer in various kinds of weather. The jacket looks super slick and overall is probably the jacket I reach for most frequently these days. I like that Castelli has built in subtle reflective components to the jacket without making it look or feel like a traffic sign. In short… you feel fast wearing this jacket.
