Perfetto Ros Convertible Jacket

Take your winter kit to the next level when the temps start to dip with Castelli's new Limited-Edition Perfetto RoS Convertible Jacket. It takes all of the benefits that you'll find from the new Perfetto Convertible, and decks them out with an new limited edition colorway that stands out on the blacktop. At first glance, changes are abound left and right, and while the aesthetic changes to play a big part in the performance of the piece, we'd argue that the lesser noticed changes are where the biggest differences come to play. That's to say that, at first glance, you might not spot that Castelli drifts away from its GORE Windstopper construction for this iteration, moving to textiles that push further forward with Rain or Shine protection, utilizing GORE's newest Infinium fabrics.

While Windstopper served a solid purpose — stopping wind, the new Infinium 205 Warm offers a little more, with a brushed interior to trap in heat, and water protection on the outside, in addition to wind coverage. This is employed at all front-facing surfaces, where we need the most protection as we pedal into foul weather. To balance the insulation and elemental coverage at the front, Castelli utilizes GORE's Infinium 203 Stretch at the rear-facing surfaces. As the name may have you guessing, Infinium 203 Stretch is incredibly flexible, and offers lighter coverage than its partner in the front. It provides improved breathability for managing your perspiration as you pedal, and while the generous stretch allows the piece to contour to your body as you pedal.

  • Castelli improves upon the Perfetto for its latest convertible piece
  • Limited edition colorway stands out on the wintry tarmac
  • New zipper placement offers cleaner look and short-sleeves
  • GORE Infinium fabrics offer improved breathability and waterproofing
  • Taped seams further keep moisture from sneaking inwards
  • Sleeves remove at elbow for a cleaner jersey feel when short-sleeve
  • Convertible zips are tucked between fabric layers to prevent irritation

5'10 at 165lb XL fits like a glove. Great jersey, excellent quality

FIRST MIX-UP FROM CASTRELLI

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: MED

I HAVE BEEN BUYING CASTRELLI SHORTS AND JERSEYS FOR A WHILE NOW. ALWAYS ORDER A MEDIUM. THIS MEDIUM JACKET IS DEFINITELY A SMALL. WORKMANSHIP IS EXCELLENT. FIX- I CAN BARELY GET MY ARMS THROUGH, SHOULDERS VERY TIGHT, TORSO VERY TIGHT. THIS IS TO SMALL FOR ANY GARMENT TO FIT UNDERNEATH.
I MUST RETURN IT. HOW SO FAR OFF FOR A MED, WHEN ALL OTHER GARMENTS HAVE FIT SO WELL. ?!

Worth Every Penny and I'm Cheap

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

  • Size Bought: Small

I absolutely love this jacket. The ability to remove the sleeves, the zippers on the side for airflow, the reflective tape for extra visibility makes this jacket a winner. The fit was perfect for me, but I must admit I am on the slimmer side so recommend going up a size if you have bit more muscle and/or mass.

Way too small. Returned twice

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: M

First, I ordered Medium (I'm usually Small so I sized up after reading other reviews). The Small was so tiny I couldn't even put it on (I am Small for Arcteryx, Icebreaker, Gore Bike Wear and many other brands). Then I returned the Small and ordered a Large and that didn't fit under the arms at all. So now I've paid the $6.99 return shipping fee twice! Ugh! The quality and look and feel of the jacket looks awesome. Unfortunately sizing is very difficult. Staying away from this in future.

Great jacket!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

I ordered this jacket after reading the reviews. I'm normally a size L in Castelli (5'11'', 180 lbs, 39 to 40 suit jacket) but the reviewers were accurate in saying this jacket fits slimmer. So I ordered an XL. The shoulders, and upper pec areas, were a touch loose for my tastes because I normally like a snug fit, but I think a L would have been too slim in the body. Like one of the other reviewers noted, this is a quality jacket, and the red/red-orange looks much better in person. I live in Northern CA and rode with it in mild to warm weather, including getting caught in the rain once, with no issues for about 7 days. Unfortunately, I crashed my bike and ripped the jacket badly. Will hope that I can find another XL, especially on sale, or see if Castelli can do a repair. I'd highly recommend it. Thanks CC!

Best jacket for shoulder seasons!

  • Fit: True to size

This jacket is fantastic for spring and fall. Great material, wind blocking and breathable. I wear it here in New England where the weather is changeable. For 35-45 a long sleeve baselayer, over 45 a short sleeve. The zip off sleeves are even colorcoded! Leave it to Cascella! I’m 5’7”, 150# and the medium is perfect. Wish I could give it 6 stars.👍🏻

The new Perfetto is even better!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Received my new Perfetto RoS Convertible Jacket (Limited Edition, in red) in early April 2020. First impressions upon unboxing were: 1) it is better-looking than the photos here show (I had been a little skeptical of the red with the black sleeves); 2) the materials and craftsmanship are obviously high quality; 3) it's more comfortable than my Gabba 3 (which I also like a lot); 4) the fit is perfect - snug but with room for 1-2 baselayers. It feels considerably warmer than the Gabba 3, with a light fleecy material on the inside, but still not too thick. It felt it would breathe well.

I've taken it on 3 rides in temps from the mid-40s to mid-50s (F), with some wind, and I used either a l-s or s-s baselayer. It has very effectively blocked the wind. Breathability has been very good - not once have I felt it was stuffy or clammy, which is an improvement on the Gabba 3, which could occasionally feel clammy. I simply didn't even think about it. The combination of materials on front and back seems excellent for keeping out the weather while maintaining breathability. This already feels like one of the best pieces of cycling kit I've ever gotten - I think it will be very versatile, especially with the removable sleeves.

Really glad I chose the Convertible, and ignored one review that suggested just getting the Gabba s-s; this simply offers more versatility for a great price - the Limited Edition was 50% off. Good looking and smart design, too. Also, the taped seams at the shoulders are reflective, which was not clear from the product description.

I have not yet had the chance to test it in the rain, but the material feels like it will do a fine job of keeping out most lighter rain, just like my Gabba does.

I'm 6'0'', 183 lbs., and ordered an XL. I normally wear a large in most clothing, but need to order a size up with Castelli. (I never knew Italians were smaller before I met Castelli.)

High quality, great jacket

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

However, runs VERY small; bought a large (6’ and 154lbs) and not even close. Never have worn an XL, but guess I’ll have to upgrade!

Hi. Ive been wearing nothing but Castelli for the past 8 years. I always wear a medium and I’m 6ft 160, sometimes up to 168 depending on my training. Are you saying that the race fit is to small or is it uncomfortable unless you’re on th bike. I think i own one large size jacket and it was to leave room for layers. Let me know if this is an over all shift in the design/construction of Castelli. Thanks

My favorite new jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 3XL

Runs extremely small which is par for the course for Castelli. I'm 6'1" 215 and the 3XL is a perfect fit in the roadie position. First ride with the jacket was 40 degrees misty to full downpour. It shed water like a hardshell but I got home after 50 miles and 3K feet of climbing dry as a bone. LOVE LOVE LOVE this jacket.

Runs small & odd sleeves

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 2XL

This is a very nice jacket but it runs quite small. Also, zip-on area of the removable sleeves works fine but, cosmetically, is bulky. Not a functional issue, but looks a bit odd.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
