That perfect in-between glove.
Don't futz around with puffy, clumsy gloves this fall or in the early spring when all you need is a little protection from some chill. The Castelli Illumina Gloves are a women's-specific pair that are ideal for those cooler fall days where half-finger gloves aren't enough but a pair of insulated ones would be too much, striking a perfect balance for excellent comfort.
The Illumina's back panels are made entirely of durable polyester that keeps the wind off but still allows some breathability so your hands don't get clammy. The palms are embedded with light padding to absorb a bit of shock and vibration from the road while still letting you feel a connection to the bike. The cuffs are long enough to comfortably stay put underneath long sleeves, and the first two digits have a silicone treatment for more affirmative grip of your shifters and levers.
The Castelli Illumina Women's Gloves come in five sizes, from X-Small to X-Large, and are available in the colors Black, Lime, and Coral.
- Q & A
Winter Commuting Glove
I bought these gloves as a gift for my girlfriend. She commutes to work on her bike in Utah and often complains of her hands being cold. I found her these gloves and she loves them because they are warm, but not bulky, and have good grip. The material is quality and the craftsmanship is good. Her hands are warm, I'm happy. Good buy.
Winter Bicycle Commute
My girlfriend rides her bike everyday to work in the winter in Utah. She was often complaining about her hands being cold and not being able to find the right glove that was both warm but not bulky. I found these and gave them to her for Christmas. She loves them! No more cold hands on the way to work. Nice craftsmanship, good material, and nice grip on the fingers and palms.
