Ride the Giro by the seat of your pants.

The 2018 Giro promises to be an exciting race and we'll be watching every stage from the edge of our seats. If your rides are starting to feel like you’re always sitting on the edge of your saddle, we suggest looking at the Men's Giro Volo Bib Short where you can celebrate the Giro and add some much-needed new bibs to your wardrobe. Castelli adds some Giro livery to its Volo model bibs to have you looking great and more importantly, riding in comfort.

Like the standard Volo, these bibs utilize the KISS Air chamois for long-ride comfort. Strategically placed Affinity fabrics offer excellent compression, breathability, and aerodynamics while the flat-lock stitching reduces irritation caused by friction. When things heat up, you'll be glad the straps and back are made of mesh and designed to keep you cool. Lastly, the GIRO Air mesh gripper leg bands keep the openings exactly where you put them and are available in the color Nero for an understated look or Rosa if you want to wear the Giro inspired bibs a little prouder.

  • Giro inspired bibs that pack comfort and style points
  • KISS Air chamois cushions the blows on all-day rides
  • Affinity fabrics are strategically placed for specific jobs
  • Mesh straps and back keep you cooler on warm rides
  • GIRO Ait leg grippers display Giro livery and keep the hem in place

Castelli race bibs at a much lower cost!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium but could have gone small

First, let's talk about the 800 pound gorilla in the room - Castelli sizing. Yes, if you wear a large in ANY other brand, you'll need an XL in Castelli. They are made for small Italian guys in a Euro sizing, not American sizing.

Now, let's talk about the quality of the shorts themselves. Disclaimer - I'm sponsored by Castelli, though I did NOT get these on discount because of that. I bought them from CC because they offer a great discounted price. That being said, when I went looking for a team, finding one that was sponsored by Castelli was a high priority as they make, IMO, the best clothing by far.

These are identical in cut, material, and padding to my race bibs but at a cheaper price. That price reduction is because you get the Giro colors and logos. Good for me as the Giro is my favorite race and because I like the pink accents!

The chamois is super comfortable - not bulky, but definitely offering good protection. The material is super smooth and feels like second skin. The leg grippers feel loose at first, but when you start riding, they somehow grip perfectly.

I typically used to wear a medium in Castelli bibs and bought the mediums here (and smalls for my son). Well, apparently I've lost weight and will be ordering another pair but in small. (For reference, 5'9" tall, 145 pounds, 31" inseam, 31" waist, 37" chest)

If you're looking for thick shorts with a thick chamois, these aren't them. If you're looking for race cut bibs that have an awesome but invisible feel, these are worth their price (even if you don't like the logos and pink accents).

Love Castelli but these are too short

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I've been wearing Castelli bibs for years and have nearly always worn a medium. Some fit perfectly, some fit a bit snug - which I'm fine with. (I'm 5-8, 32 in waist and run between 170-180 with muscular legs). But these were way too small. Not only were they way too tight, the front cut felt a lot lower than any of my other Castelli products. Sadly, this is my first return of any Castelli product.
