Competizione Limited Edition Short

With the Competizione Shorts, pro-level Castelli quality need not come at a pro-level price tag. The Competizione features much of the same technology as their higher-end offerings, like a KISS Air2 insert and Giro4 leg grippers, making it comfortable for long and short rides alike. The main panels use Castelli’s Vortex fabric for optimal breathability and comfort, while inside of the legs are a tighter Lycra for better compression, stretch, and rebound, where there’s more movement when pedaling. The KISS Air2 insert’s perforated padding and seamless upper keeps cool air moving through the short to ensure your comfort on the bike.

Good shorts

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Nice shorts but definately get a size up -- they run quite small. They are super small when you take them out of the package, and while it gets better after you've worn it once or twice, there is no way i'd fit into what i usually get. I'm a Med but get a Large with this. But good shorts and good cushion if you size correctly

Excellent Biking Shorts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

They seemed small at first look, but fit very well. Easily my most comfortable pair of biking shorts.

When you put them on & wife says wow!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Been looking for the perfect pair of cycle pants for sessions on the direct drive trainer - I spend hours riding and over 500 km a month. I've tried a few different pairs but after completing 'The Competitive Cyclist for Kyle' challenge on Strava, I decided to have a look at the selection of gear compiled by the 'gear heads' like the late Kyle. I was NOT disappointed! These Castelli Shorts are like a second skin. I'm 5'10" and 195lbs and chose large - when I first tried the shorts on they were a snug aero fit but after a couple of rides they were like a second skin. These shorts are so functional but at the same time, the function is based on great design along with understated but very stylish motif. As I walked down the hallway to the office where the trainer was set up, my wife just said "Wow!" She immediately asked me if my new cycling gear was Italian which I replied in the affirmative - she was very impressed and provided a number of compliments about how good my new gear looked. She noted how much more stylish and flattering my new gear was compared to my old gear - noting the understated nature of the branding and stylish cut of the shorts and the Castelli sleeveless base layer I'd also purchased for the warm up phase. Well done to Competitive Cyclist, thanks to the gear heads (and to the late Kyle) for curating cycling kit that works so well and looks good enough that my wife notices!

No idea how anyone states these run true to size. I’m 5’9” and 155lbs wet through. The M size tiny. Going back. Will try the L as looks like a well constructed short.

Castelli Rocks!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just received my new Castelli Competizione Limited Shorts. Absolutely love these things! This is my first Castelli shorts purchase but certainly will not be the last. I've purchased several other Castelli products from our friends here at Competitive Cyclist and all have been Top Shelf! The quality is superb. Several other reviewers have mentioned a snug fit with Castelli. I would agree but not way out of line. I'm 5'9" and currently weigh 165.8lbs. These shorts fit stug but are very comfortable. I would describe it as an "Aero" fit. Not loose or baggy. The color and overall quality is certainly Pro Level! Highly Recommend!

Dreamy Fit for this guy.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I love these shorts. I?ve been a Pearl Izumi short guy for a long time. ( I still like them) but I thought I?d venture out and try a different pair. I?m 6? 3 , 185 lbs. skinny legs and as my wife says - ?assless?. Lol. That being said ? I usually go size: medium - When the shorts came I was like ? uh oh? I may have ordered a bit too small. BUT ? When I put them on? Magic! The shorts fit like the suit on Spider-Man ! Like a glove! Love them. I?ve put about 500 miles on the shorts so far and ? I give them a letter grade of ?A?. It?s true you get what you pay for. They?re worth it and? they look good. Functionally, I?ve had thicker and thinner pads ? these work pretty good. Meaning - yesterday I put in 50 miles in 95 degree heat with 4000? elevation gain here in Colorado and ? and my little tush feels just fine! Ta da! Highly Recommend? Dave, Colorado

Nice shorts but the sizing is way off

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I'm usually a large in most shorts. I sized up to XL as these "ran small" and an XL was supposed to fit a 36.6in waist and I'm about 35". I didn't even have to get them out of the bag to know they weren't going to fit. The waist is several inches smaller than my other size L shorts. So "runs small" actually means off by over a full size. Interestingly I also bought a set of their bibs in XL which are snug but fit. Maybe it's just that the shorts are tighter around the waist.

Excellent

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Most expensive shorts i've owned, but worth the price. I'm 73" 170 lb. bought large. Seem perfect for me. they're snug and supportive. They are easy to forget about when riding; no chafing or other unpleasantness. Just what they should be. also very lightweight. I've used them for a couple of months.

Great pair of shorts and shirt

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These shorts fit a bit tight, but they are very comfortable all around. I also purchased the Castelli Rosa Giro Race Jersey and it has become my favorite shirt. As a matter of fact, this is my favorite biking outfit overall.
