Go minimalist without sacrificing hydration.

Striking an optimal balance between streamlined organization and impressive hydration, the CamelBak Ratchet Hydration Pack carries a whopping three liters of water in a lightweight, minimalist design. This low-profile pack moves blisteringly fast on longer trail rides where carrying extra water is essential to finishing without a nasty case of heat stroke or dehydration.

Just because it's relatively streamlined doesn't mean it completely throws storage by the wayside. In fact, the Ratchet features a stretch overflow pocket for stashing a minimalist shell, as well as internal tool organization for making essential repairs. Side mesh pockets are a great addition as well, lending extra versatility for riding snacks and spare tubes.

Super functional

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This pack is a great pack for so many outdoor activities including mountain and road biking, running, hiking, climbing. It is awesome! I have used mine for multipitch climbing and lightweight hiking mostly! I love it! It is very lightweight and holds what I need it to to keep minimalism and functionality! I would recommend for anyone!

Just what I was after

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

After a season of mountain biking without a camel bak, I finally decided to cave and join all my riding companions in using a hydration pack. I bought this pack just before racing 25 hours in frog hollow, and I am very pleased with my purchase. Large 3 liter bladder kept me from running out of water, and the storage is perfect for a spare tube and a couple power bars.

Well insulated Well Insulated

Gentlemen, This is the one to own. I'm a avid cyclist and have been needing a hydration pack for some time. This one is nice because it has a 3 liter bladder. I assure you the 2 or 2.5 liters bladder would not be enough. If you are not sure you need all 3 liters the you can just fill half full. But if you do need 3 liters and you have one of the smaller ones, you can't just make it larger. Get the larger one. I mountain bike ride 2-3 hours all the time and drink the entire thing. This pack is also insulated very well. I filled it up with ice water the other day in 95 degree Texas weather, went for a nice 2 hour ride and still had a liter left when I was done. I through it my car and later pulled it out to clean. The water was still Ice COLD after 5 hrs. All of the other Camelbak hydration packs I looked at didn't have the insulation that this one did. The pack also has enough storage for my Keys, I-phone 6 plus, a extra Tube and all my tools. as well as some energy bars..There is also a spot to store additional layers if needed. It stays very secure to my back and I often forget I even have it on. The only negative is that it doesn't have one of those cool magnetic hooks, but the standard hook is just fine.

Lightweight & Functional

This little pack really packs a punch! Just what I needed for my road and mountain biking. Its small enough and breathable enough that I often forget I'm wearing it while I'm riding. Easy adjustable straps make it fit perfectly. The water reservoir doesn't have a bad taste (even after several uses) which I've experience with other packs. The pack offers just enough space to carry what you need for a ride (tubes, tools, a small snack, keys, gloves, phone). Overall a great pack and a great price for what you get!
