CamelBak Podium Water Bottle - 21oz

You can't be a winner if you don't stay hydrated.

A spill-proof, self-sealing Jet Valve combined with a positive lockout for leakproof protection makes the CamelBak Podium Water Bottle a winner for sports events. Its BPA-free TruTaste polypropylene material is safer to drink out of than polycarbonate plastics, and it won't distort your water's taste.

Great water bottle

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Its all about the nozzle. The ability to squeeze a controlled burst without necessarily needing to put it into your mouth. Great design, lasts a long time. Just make sure not to leave sugary sports drinks in it between use. The plastic can retain funk.

Also a squirt gun

Love this thing, doubles as a squirt gun to spray friends on a hot day

These are the only water bottles I will purchase. They don't leak, easy to drink out of, and just the right kind of squeeze.

    Bottles Baby

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got 2 of these for gifts and they are loved. The nozzle delivers water to the mouth with ease, no leaking, lightweight, and perfect for the pack pockets they were bought for. Camelbak wins again.

What is the height of this bottle? Is it much shorter than the Podium 24 oz (standard, not Chill)?

    Best Answer

Hey Mike, the height of the bottle from the bottom to the top is 8.25". Are you trying to see if it will clear your inner triangle? It will fit in a Medium 2016 Santa Cruz Nomad, barely. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

The standard 21 oz (not Chill) bottle is 8.5 X 2.75 in

The standard 24 oz (not Chill) bottle is 9.5 X 2.75 in

It's enough of a difference that I go with the 21 oz most of the time.

    Not your grandfathers water bottle

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The water bottle has stayed pretty much unchanged for years. We are at least no longer using corks and tin cans, but the Podium allows for easy on/off twists with a large stream of water when needed. The contoured edges make the bottle easy to grip.

Same comment as for the larger size - these have been the best option for water bottles that don't leak. I really only purchase these now when replacing lost bottles. The smaller bottle size is perfect for those who ride small full suspension frames and can't fit the taller bottle.

This is an excellent water bottle. I have two sizes. They fit in your drink cage on your bike. I am a big fan of Nalgene bottles, the basic opaque white ones with the blue cap. But this Camelbak Podium is a squeeze bottle which is great for biking and other one-handed situations. It has a spill-proof nozzle which really does not spill. It also has a leak-proof setting which will not leak or spill even if you squeeze the bottle. So you can throw it in your bag and it won't get your stuff wet.

    Small but Great

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bottle is only 21 oz, but the nozzle is what I really enjoy. It seals automatically and doesn't require much force to get any liquid form the bottle. I've bought many camelbak bottles with the same nozzle, it's awesome!

    One of the best bottles

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The spout mechanism is really convenient. You can leave it "open" and it won't spill unless you squeeze it and when you want to make sure it "closes" you turn the top rather than pull on the part you drink from. It's a great design.

Backcountry also sells a 24oz version of this bottle. I'd recommend that one if you need a few more ounces for longer rides.

    Awesome Bottle

Great bottle for riding. Never leaks, easy to use.

    Doesn't leak!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My wife snagged one of these bottles from a Tour of Utah feed zone last year, and it's now the only bottle that I ever use. The nozzle is outstanding -- in "locked" mode, it doesn't leak at all. I can keep it in my backpack with computer, clothes, etc. and don't worry about it all.

When drinking, there's great flow and the bottle is easy to squeeze.

This is the best bottle ever. Seriously.

One suggestion when you use it on the bike -- when you reach down to grab the bottle from its cage, go ahead and switch it into "drink" mode while it's still in the cage. It's super quick and easy to do at that point, but it's awkward to do if you're holding the bottle in one hand.

    Don't be cheap

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Get this water bottle. Incredibly easy to use with a lock mechanism or flow. Like everyone else has said, your water will never get a cheap plastic taste. Super easy to clean.

    Proper bottle!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's a bottle, not too much can go wrong? Wrong. Get a bottle with a bad taste and a crappy plastic taste and you will quickly appreciate the wonders of a great bottle like this one. the top is effortless and will provide a solid blast of water. This bottle will also lock closed unlike most other bottle to ensure that it doesn't leak during transport. Cant go wrong with this bottle, easy to clean (rubber nipple can easily be removed for cleaning as well) and never tastes like anything it has had in it prior.

This is a terrific water bottle

I had previously only used cheap plastic water bottles I had gotten for free for biking. This is a really nice upgrade. It gets water out really fast. I use it for everything and have had no leaks or issues at all. Love it.

This is the best bottle out there. A friend put it well, this bottle makes me drink more. It is no hassle and has a great topper. You don't have to worry about opening and closing it. Just grab the bottle and squeeze. If you need to lock it closed, you can as well. I have probably purchased 15-20 of these bottle over the years. There is always one in my car, on my work bench, next to my bed, and at my well as in each of my brother's, nephews, and kid's bikes.

    Enduro Bottle

Works great in a fanny pack! Shorter than most!

      Perfect for Biking

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This water bottle does everything a water bottle should... hold water. It's nothing special, but it has a nice lid design, and is comfortable in the hand. Holds enough water for my rides, but not too much. I love how you can keep the flow open without losing water. Just squeeze!

      Awesome Bottle

As a competitive cyclist, hydration is crucial during those long days on the road. The high flow rate with just a soft squeeze of the bottle makes hydration easy at high speeds. The locking mechanism means no annoying drips down the leg. Super easy to clean in the dishwasher or by hand.
