A good ol' boarding booty bumper.

Go after new tricks with gusto when wearing the Burton Women's Total Impact Shorts. Padding your tailbone, hips, and legs with patented G-Form Proprietary Impact Protection Technology, these flexible shorts become stiffer upon impact for protection from rails, boxes, jumps, and bulletproof snow. After the impact is over, the padding returns to its original state, for a flexible fit underneath snow pants and additional layers. These shorts are made of quick drying DryRide Ultrawick fabric for superior breathability and moisture wicking. A women-specific fit and rollover waistband keep you comfortable when you're hitting the slopes.

Burton Total Impact Short

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Burton total impact shorts are comfortable and the g-form is soft and pliable. If its mainly tailbone protection you’re after, then these shorts will do the job. Overall comfort and feel is a big plus, sometime I ever forget I’m wearing them. Good for any riding conditions, I’ve been mostly using them in the preseason so far where snow levels are at a low, with an icy and firm base. I can ride with confidence even if conditions are a little on the harder side.

Great Protection

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought for my girlfriend, she totally likes it.

A little bit of extra padding

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've used these a few times. I just wanted a little bit of extra protection for the days I play around in the park. They provide extra padding that fits well under you ski pants. I 'm glad the dont have really big pads because they wouldn't fit well under my snowpants. The tailbone protection is great.

They do seem to run a bit big.

The Two Little Pads

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The two little pads do not protect the butt when you fall. They wrap around the inner thighs that they are useless. The pad for the tail bone seems high that it pushes sharply on the tail bone as you fall.
It's interesting that the customer rep wrote an email asking how I feel about the product, but never responded. I think she just wanted to know if the product was received. But, because of their "insincere" customer care, I thought twice about doing business again with Backcountry. I searched Amazon for the G-Form knee pads and elbow pads and they are even cheaper there. I bought them from Amazon.

Great gear but not true to size/pictures

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

These Burton impact shorts I'm sure offers great protection, I haven't tried it out yet. But Burton is usually true to its word when it comes to quality. However, the pictures are a little more deceiving. The prints (I ordered the Cat's Meow print) are not what they look like online. It's actually a bit different in shade and not nearly as vivid as the picture makes it look like. It's just slightly more dull than the picture but the problem is when you wear them it obviously stretches the fabric and that's what causes the print color to dull out a lot (unless you're the ideal model size that fits this perfectly which in my experience most normal bodies don't like mine). Also, I'm typically a Small or XS in most Burton bottoms along with the rest of my clothing. However, these fit pretty tight. I ordered the XS and it definitely pinches everywhere and squeezes my fat. I'm going to have to exchange it for a S (which I know will still be tight around the waist band BUT I'd rather have the paddings fit where they're supposed to. If I size up to a medium, the waist will fit comfortably but I'm assuming the padding areas will be looser too. So I have to choose one or the other and since I'm buying this for the padding, I'd have to choose size S). Otherwise, the material is amazingly soft and thin which is nice for layering under pants since my old ones were all sooo bulky. This is definitely a game changer. Overview: Awesome all around. If you choose a print, and want it solely for the print, then go up in size or it won't be true to color. Otherwise choose plain colors like black. Size is not true to size. It's on the tighter side.
