Bluebird pow day approved.

You'll want to wear the Burton Men's Covert Shell Jacket if you're heading to the slopes and the weather is expected to be bluebird, but you still want a shell-like layer to cut the wind and resist external moisture. The Living Lining helps regulate temperature and will adjust to your core temperature, and the removable waist gaiter helps keep all the pow out of your under layers, or you can just pick up the matching pants and take advantage of the jacket-to-pant interface. A media/goggle pocket keeps your tunes pumping and an extra pair of goggles lined up in case you yardsale. And to top it all off, the Covert is made from bluesign-approved fabrics that are ethically sourced, so at the end of the day you can feel good about what you're wearing.

  • A water-resistant shell for snowboarding in the resort
  • Removable waist gaiter keeps out snow so you stay dry
  • Jacket-to-pant interface secures jacket to compatible pants
  • Fulltime contour hood fits over helmet for added safety
  • Goggle/media pocket holds extra goggles or phone
  • Interior mesh pocket holds snacks, safety kit, and extras

I just received this jacket shell and I am very happy with the product. Before I purchased this jacket I noticed a few post about sizing discrepancies, that it ran big. From my experience with jacket shells, you want them bigger in order to be able to layer clothes underneath. I don't think its supposed to be form fitting, unless you like looking like a stuffed sausage. For me this jacket is good quality and does what the designers and the marketers advertised and I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

Well made but runs large

Truly a shell, don't expect a ton of warmth from this jacket but it's well made and has a nice feel to the fabric (not scratchy). The colors in the picture (camo colorway) of this jacket are a just a bit over saturated. In person the colors are a more muted in a good way. I read that these run big, and boy was that right. Where I normally wear a medium, I was swimming in a medium, so glad I also ordered a small because that one fit best. Size down! It is the best shell in existence? No, but it's also not $600. I love it for the price and I think it will do its job for many seasons to come.

Great jacket for the price

It’s a stylish shell jacket, perfect for bluebird days but with just enough room to wear your own layers underneath on colder days. I have insulation layers so this is definitely great for me. The jacket ran big, though, and not in a cool baggy way. I’m a 5’10”, 160lb male and the medium swallowed me. Small fit perfectly—I can wear a fleece and down jacket underneath this shell and it fits perfectly. Glad to own this jacket.

Burton shell jacket

Just bought this jacket for my 14 year old son. A little disappointed that it is not a warmer jacket.
It looks cute but not very warm.

It's a shell jacket... It's supposed to be worn over thermal layers or an insulated jacket or to keep them from getting wet. And this jacket more than gets the job done.

This particular style is only a shell. It is not made for warmth. However we sell this exact same jacket but the insulated version. You can find it on our site by searching for the Burton Covert "Insulated" Jacket.
