Why We Like The AK Leather Tech Glove

A favorite among the Burton team on those warmer days when you don't need a big and bulky insulated glove, the AK Leather Tech Glove offers great grip, dexterity, and durability. The brushed fleece lining offers reliable warmth, and the extended cuff length keeps snow from creeping up your sleeves. We appreciate the durable qualities of the leather construction because you don’t have to worry about ripping your gloves when trying new grabs.

  • Leather riding glove is suited for fair-weather resort shredding
  • Gnar Guard leather construction is abrasion-resistant for heavy usage
  • Fleece inner lining is soft-to-the-touch for comfort and warmth
  • Touchscreen-compatible fingers keep you connected to your buddies
  • Extended storm cuff offers increased coverage for staying dry

Good looking comfortable fall glove

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Bought this glove last spring on a sale and was super excited to get some snow this year and test it out! I bought this glove as a ski touring glove for moderate days in the 20s when you're building up heat going uphill and need something warm enough for the downs.

-Fashionable. Leather looks great!
-Comfortable. The fleece inside is very soft and comfy.
-Might be waterproof? Haven't tested this, and probably never will...

-Not warm. These glove keep my hands nice and warm down to about 40F, maybe 45F. Below that, as thick as they are, with fleece and leather, they are just not warm. I have a cheap crappy $10 pair of Costco waterproof tech-friendly gloves that are notably warmer, if less comfy and less durable.
-Touch screen tech is iffy at best. You have to mash your entire finger pad on the screen to get them to work. No finger tips or thumb tips and no precision, and mine stored working below 30F, though that might be that I tested it below 30F before I figured out that I had to mash my whole finger flat down.

Summary: great driving gloves or city gloves. Sub par for any actual outdoor activity. Bummer.

Great looks and versatility

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Anything that says Burton [AK] is a solid bet, even if you pay premium for it. These have everything I wanted and more.

I like to wear my gloves tucked into my coat sleeves and these are perfect fit for that. At warmer temperatures, these are great as is. They keep the water out while not letting your hands sweat. At colder temps I like to throw a liner in. (I use the liner that came with my Burton mittens—these don’t come with one.) Adding a liner still keeps them fitting great.

I’ve put about ten days on these and they’ve quickly become my favorite pair.

Great looks and versatility

Simple, durable glove!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I usually only ride with liners and pull my hand in under my sleeves. However, this year I thought I would treat myself and I picked these bad boys. Basic no non-sense glove. The fleece is nice and soft inside and keeps my hand warm in all conditions. The gloves side zippers are easy to access and open when taking off the gloves and the wrist gaiters give you added insurance on the chairs. Really can't go wrong with these! True to size chart.

Great Glove

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was hesitant to order because of the previous review, but glad I did! No color bleed issues at all, and I put this glove through the wringer in the past week, from sub 20 degree lift rides to sweaty hikes to the road. Great fit, quality, and finish. Comparable to my Hestras, but for about half the price.

Very comfortable.....but

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Needed a good quality spring glove for my upcoming trip out west. I have always found the quality of the Burton gloves to be excellent. Unfortunately, after a few hours of riding, I decided to take a break and grab a bite to eat. To my surprise, when I took off the gloves before entering the cafe, I noticed that both of my hands have turned black from the gloves. Even with vigorous scrubbing the "dye" would not come off. I was quite embarrassed handing my money to the cashier.

Very comfortable.....but
