Dependable protection and style.

When old man winter gives you a run for your money, give him the old one-two with a little help from the Burton AK Swash Gore-Tex Jacket. Constructed with materials designed to withstand storms and the most rugged terrain, the Swash is your best weapon against the winter chill.

The Swash is outfitted with Gore-Tex, which makes it fully waterproof, complete with the ability to breathe so you stay dry from the inside as well as from the outside. Additionally, the jacket has fully taped seams to prevent moisture from seeping in through the cracks. There's 60g Primaloft synthetic insulation in the upper back and front body like a vest to keep your core toasty without overheating the rest of your body while you take laps off-piste.

The Swash rocks Burton's signature AK fit with engineered articulation that allows for total freedom of movement and room for layering. Pull down the Powder Gasket cuffs and snap the removable stretch powder skirt to compatible pants for a snow suit that has you totally covered when things get stupidly deep, and go show January that you're not scared of nothin'.

  • Complete weather protection jacket for comfort on the hill
  • Gore-Tex membrane provides waterproof protection on wet days
  • Fully taped seams prevent moisture from seeping through the cracks
  • Insulation in front and back offers warmth without restriction
  • AK fit with articulation for freedom of movement on the slopes
  • Jacket-to-pant interface creates fully protective snowsuit
  • Drop hood construction lets hood to be pulled on without unzipping
  • Powder Gasket Cuffs seal out the snow on fresh powder days

Pretty Good

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Small

Overall this is a really nice jacket. Very well made. Face fabric seems durable. Wide cuffs makes wearing over gloves easier than most jackets I've used. I really like jackets with light insulation like this. You can get away with lighter base layers, yet it's not too heavy to wear on warm days.

One flaw IMO: The hood is not helmet compatible. It only covers half my helmet, and with it on it's nearly impossible to zip up because it's too tight. Looks like Burton decided to gear it toward people who ride without a helmet, in which case it fits perfectly. (pic compared to an Arcteryx hood)

Overall I recommend this jacket........but if you wear a helmet and having a functional hood is important, it's probably not for you.

Pretty Good

is this warm? Some snowboard jacket with insulation is not warm enough so that I have to wears layers and layers

Great Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

The mix of GORE-TEX and the new Primaloft insulation make this one of the best performing jackets I've ever had. Not to mention the improved fit in the AK line, highly recommend this one.
