Get into the nitty gritty.

The Brooks Women's PureGrit 5 Trail Running Shoe provides comfort and support whether you're gaining elevation up to two thousand feet or enjoying the trials and tribulations on hardpack desert trails. The PureGrit 5 sports a newly redesigned upper that emphasizes breathability, while the neutral support caters to runners with medium to high arches.

In keeping with the original design, the PureGrit boasts a best-foot-forward construction with its rounded heel and 4mm drop to achieve a more natural, comfortable stride. The BioMoGo DNA midsole provides lightweight and adaptive cushioning on rugged, bumpy, and uneven surfaces. Additionally, the PureGrit has a sticky, flexible sole inspired by climbing-shoe rubber, 3D Hex lugs for grip, and Omega Flex Grooves for smoother transitions onto the ball of your foot. Brooks also included a Nav Band on the upper to keep your forefoot from slipping around in the shoe.

A True Brooks Lover

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I purchased these shoes for my wife after she wore through her Brooks Cascadias and she has welcomed the change. She is a Brooks shoe lover having used the Cascadia, Launch, and Ghost models past and present. She loves the amount of traction on trail runs or short hikes throughout the trails in Utah. She noticed a weight savings over the Cascadias, especially on longer runs. In terms of sizing, she is the same size in every Brooks shoe she has ever worn. The colors go great with her clothing (because that's important in a shoe), the logo is a little large - takes a while to grow on ya but its ok when you know its reflective (safety is key). Happy wife = happy life right? Well I least I think I'm going in right direction....
