Hard-wearing protection.

You wouldn't show up to a basketball game without comfortable and supportive shoes, so why head out into the alpine without hard-wearing protection like the Black Yak Men's Pali Gore Pro Shell 3L Pant. Designed by mountaineers for mountaineers, this pant features a Gore-Tex Pro construction which not only provides waterproof and windproof protection, but it's also highly breathable for unrivaled comfort.

Additionally, the fully taped seams and ankle gaiters further safeguard you from precipitation, so you're able to trek on without having to worry about whether or not your gear will step up to challenge. However, should you or the temperatures start to heat up, the full-length side zippers provide on-the-go temperature regulation, not to mention, they certainly make visiting the alpine version of the porcelain throne ten-fold easier. And last but not least, the waist band is suspender compatible for a personalized fit, and the bevvy of pockets keep necessities close by.

Love the style, hate the fit

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: medium and large

Unless you're a dude with no quads you probably will have a hard time fitting in these pants. Ordered both the Medium and Large in the Chocolate Brown (love the color) and while impressed with the design/aesthetic and materials I couldnt believe how tight the pants were-- I'm normally a comfortable medium in most top/bottoms from arcteryx/patagonia though occasionally a large on some of the slimmer items. 33 inch waist, large quads, and 42 inch chest. SHouldn't be that hard to find decent fitting active outdoor gear.

The waist on the medium was fine but the quads had no room whatsoever to bend, let alone be active without fear of blowing them out on the first climb/descent. Let alone using the thigh pocket...

The large is just bearable in the quad but the waist is huge-- and perversely for the price there is no belt/mechanism to adjust the waist size at all on these pants. So have to use a third party belt and cinch these down a fair bit-- but again the quads are probably still too tight.

A shame because I love the color/aesthetic and the materials seem top notch.

Ironically medium in the black yak jackets fit perfectly if not a bit looser than expected. Just the bottoms/pants were ill fitting.
