Basic Rack

This is a pretty basic rack that gets the job done. If you need something at a reasonable price this should work fine.

    Poorly Built!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this rack on two different bikes. It's sturdy enough, and can carry whatever you can manage to strap to it, but some of the welds broke almost straight away. I'd steer clear.

    Why So Complicated??

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This rack does the job. Once the rack is assembled, it's good to carry on your bike without a hassle. Although I would not say the same with the assembly, it sure is a hassle. There are eleven zip ties all across this product, only to hold three pieces together. And those zip ties were not in easy places to get to. Then trying to put together the pieces, it was so complicated. There were so many unnecessary pieces for this to function. Also having an older bike does not help what so ever. Again still great for the price, but Blackburn could have spent a little more time with this product.

    Does the job

Not the easiest to install, but once it's there, it works as expected.

      hard to to assemble

its a great rack but is not completely universal. this is the second rack i have put on a bike by blackburn. both times it has taken at least an hour to figure out the best way to attach the stabilizer bars
