I ordered these gloves for a trip to CO and was hoping they'd be a do-all glove. Day one was about 25 degrees F and my fingers were cold by 4 pm, which seldom happens to me while snowboarding. There's ample soft wool-like insulation in these gloves, but not enough to be warm in 20 degree or under weather. Wearing a mid-weight liner would solve this issue, but at the expense of dexterity and adequate feeling and flexibility in your fingers. I didn't have a light weight liner with me, maybe they would provide enough warmth without sacrificing comfort and usability. The build and materials are top-notch, my hands stayed nice and dry in them even on a warm blue-bird day on the slopes, and they'd make a great shoveling snow glove, but not a do-all slopes and chore glove like i was hoping. I wish i would've spent the extra $20 and got the black diamond kingpin and a nice liner to go with. they run slightly large, I ordered a size down and the fit was perfect.

Simple Perfection

I loooooove these gloves! I love everything about them, the simplicity, the effectiveness, the value, and the style. Super warm under most conditions you'll find on the mountain (Black diamond has these rated for 15-40 degrees fahrenheit although I'm sure they could handle more than that with a liner) and waterproofing hasn't been an issue so far, although it does come with a free sample of nikwax, which should address any waterproofing concerns.

These fit perfectly over the cuff of my jacket and I'm sure they would fit well under larger cuffs as well. The thumb pattern affords a bit more dexterity, which is nice, and the gloves are really soft so there's not really any kind of breaking in involved.

All in all, I am very happy with these and I'm honestly surprised there aren't more reviews on them.
