Black Diamond CoEfficient Fleece Jacket - Men's

A warm, lightweight, breathable, durable, and fast-dry mid-layer for many activities.

Calling the Black Diamond Men's CoEfficient Fleece Jacket a versatile mid-layer might be an understatement considering the fact that you take it out on every cold-weather excursion. Its high-range versatility is due to the unique Polartec Power Dry High Efficiency fleece fabric that covers your body with soft warmth. Not only does it warm you, it's remarkably breathable and dries fast so you stay comfortable while you hike up powder-capped peaks or pick up a sweat during climbing expeditions whether they're long alpine ascents in the Tetons or short sport routes late in fall. And it's especially durable to withstand all the beatings you inflict on it all year long.

A slim fit pulls the CoEfficient close to your body to both help you layer up for ski sessions and reduce bulk to your climbing attire. Stretchy cuffs feel soft on your wrists, and Black Diamond lined the neck with cozy chamois for additional comfort. One chest pocket is all you need for your phone and wallet while you climb up some peaks or drop down them.

Black Diamond does it again

  • Size Bought: medium

I have continually been impressed with BD products. Their packs, climbing gear, and clothing!

I got the vest version of this for xmas for the ski season and even after not being a fan of vest I was loving this fleece. It made me end up buying the full jacket too!

This baby is meant to be layered, but when done properly it is crazy warm for how light and thin it is. I gave away all my other fleece jackets after getting this, that's how happy I am with it.

It does not break wind at all as a warning, but just toss on your wind breaker and you'll be toasty warm. This is secretly one of the advantages though. When I'm backcountry touring I can leave this guy on and regulate temps well. Other fleeces will burn you alive and also take up so much damn room!!!

Great fit, not the warmest layer though

I use this as my mid layer. It is different than traditional fleece jackets. It is definitely fitted (I like that) and is true to size. I wear it under a Black Diamond water proof shell, which prevents it from getting wet. However, even the combination of those two layers, along with a base layer can be inadequate when you are high up on the mountains, unless you ski nonstop and keep warm.

Great Mid-Layer

I own 2 of these . Great in the fall for hikes and what not, but I really use it has a mid-layer in the winter for skiing.

The tailored fit works great underneath a shell. Definitely designed for an athletic build and more as a athletic item than casual. It's a little longer in the sleeves and torso, which I like because it fits well why reaching and bending over for stuff. The elastic cuffs work really well and are very comfortable. It's fairly warm for its weight so its definitely a great item to have in the pack if you get cold or for colder days on riding lifts.

Light but warm

I have used this jacket hiking in fall at elevation. It's very lightweight, yet pretty warm. It works well as a layer or by itself. The sleeves do start to have some "pilling" by the third or fourth wash, but it's not a huge deal. It's a snug fit, but the arms are long enough that the jacket moves with you and doesn't ride up.
